There's a reason you can find LOTS of this book used.

This book will say that Jehovah's Witnesses are the ONLY True religion, but that is most debatable.
Terry Roxburgh
I read it over 25 years ago and would highly recommend this book.

This is a collectors book. It was nick named "Crystal Blue Persuasion" for the large amount of members it brought in to the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society with its first printing in 1968 during that time. Classic "Rote" techniques. It made the 1990 Guinness World Record book for the most printings. To this day Jehovah's Witnesses world wide still refer to their brand of belief as the "Truth". A mass exodus with the Watchtower came after 1975 where membership dropped off. This was directly related to the false claims from the Watchtower where Armageddon was prophetically expected to arrive in the fall of 1975. The Watchtower denies this to this day, anyone who looks back at old Watchtower literature and old recorded convention talks will see that it was most definitely slanted that way for a push for members.

This 1968 publication of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society (Jehovah's Witnesses) is, after the Bible itself and the works of Chairman Mao (Tse-Tung/Zedong), the most widely published book in the world, ultimately being published in more than 108,000,000 copies. It was first printed in 1968 (in an edition of 59,000,000 copies), and was republished in 1981 (to remove the Dean Acheson quote on page 9 quoted below). Interesting, it has been allowed to go out of print.

It is in the 4"x6", 190-page format followed by most of the Watchtower's later publications. Surprisingly for a Watchtower work geared for such a large audience, it is sparsely illustrated with drawings.

Here are some quotations from the book, that often illustrate distinctive doctrines of the WBTS:

"Also, as reported back in 1960, a former United States Secretary of State, Dean Acheson, declared that our time is 'a period of unequalled instability, unequalled violence.' And he warned, 'I know enough of what is going on to assure you that, in fifteen years from today, this world is going to be too dangerous to live in." (Pg. 9)
"Because there is uncertainty as to the exact pronunciation of God's personal name, some clergymen say you should not use it at all ... However, they do not insist that you should not use the names 'Jesus' and 'Jeremiah'... The vital point is not what pronunciation you use for the Divine Name, whether 'Yahweh,' 'Jehovah,' or some other, as long as the pronunciation is common in your language. What is wrong is to FAIL to use that name." (Pg. 18)
"While Jesus was on earth he certainly was NOT equal to his Father... After Jesus' death, God raised him to life again and gave him glory greater than he had before.

There's a reason you can find LOTS of this book used. This is a book by a proven false prophet. None of the indicated events of 1975 actually took place. Like Harold Camping, Scientology, or other cults that seek to manipulate people for profit, the Jehovah's Witnesses leadership are in their true form in this book. Religious doctrines are fabricated by the leadership and then Bible verses are laboriously taken out of context in an attempt to prove the made up non-sense is actually Biblical.

The Jehovah's Witnesses leadership is called "The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society." It is the largest publishing business in the world. If you enjoy reading, from a historical perspective, how a cult controls it's members, here's a textbook example. Unfortunately, all of the literature being printed today by the WTS is just as bad as this 45 year old farce.

I studied with Jehovah's Witnesses using this book back in 1976. Learning so many truths from the Bible convinced me that this book was truly a spiritual gem and an organization I knew God approved of and one I wanted to be a part of. The following year, in March, I was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and still serve him today.

The truth that leads to eternal life published by the watchtower society and affectionately called the truth book is awesome. Though released over four decades ago it truths are still refreshing and offer succor to a mind thrusting for understanding of God's word the bible. The book is intended for use along with the bible. While written in a fashion diplomatically it expounds and aids any truth seeker whether academically accomplished or less to understand God's message to the human family. With exception to the bible itself it is one of the greatest books I have read. I highly recommend this book. Any reader will be rejoicing at having found a pearl of extraordinary value. Thank you for reading my post. Agape. Marva

My husband belongs to the Jehovah's Witness religion. He would like me to join. I am in the process of researching this religion. I am also involved in a bible study with a member of his congregation. I over heard a member talk about how great the "little Truth blue book" was so I looked on Amazon (I love Amazon) and there it was. So far it is much like the red Paradise book. It's interesting to compare the two. This world has been corrupt and in lawlessness for a long, long, long, time!
