These really do dry quickly.(Not quite as quickly as the jetstreams.) And they don't bleed or wipe off in any way. If you want a pen that makes you feel a little safer when writing a check in this day and age, this is the one.

The ink flows smoothly and, as long as you are not writing in "shiny" paper, does not smear. The "blackness" of the black ink is very good. Also, the pen looks good (for a plastic disposable) and has a sturdy metal clip.

My only real complaint is the grip is a bit uncomfortable, owing to the hardness of the rubber.

Perhaps someone reading this will post a comment about how the refills fit into a more comfortable retractable body?

Even without that, this has become my favorite non-fancy pen.

BTW, I feel that honest, effective reviews can take the place of first-hand experiences that are lacking in online shopping. I've always appreciated the help I've received from other reviewers and work hard to return the favor as best as I can. The Uni-Ball 207 (Signo) is the best pen I have used to date. This is a high quality, gel pen which also uses pigmented ink to prevent check washing. I love this pen because it writes more smooth and requires less pressure than your typical ballpoint pen. This pen uses more ink than a ballpoint pen but, it is refillable. I have had no problems finding refills at retailers, such as Target or Wal-Mart. I have never had any problems with these pens leaking or exploding. Overall, this gel pen is of much higher quality than your standard ballpoint pen and I wouldn't use anything else.

I have been using Uniball signo 207 for at least a year everyday on moleskines, copier paper, Paper Blanks, you name it. No problem at all. And the grip is fabulous, very comfortable pen.

Refills are not easy to find in stores were I live, though. And I wish they would make refills for reds too. Presently, they only make refills with black and blue ink, which are the most commonly used colors, anyway.

WOW --- I prefer to do all of my writing on the computer as it pains me to write anything in longhand. And I really don't pay much attention to pens however, this year I happen to be filling out a long list of Holiday cards when it dawned on me how effortless it was to write them all while using this Signo pen. No cramped writing hand or smeared ink. The pen amazed me so -- that I found it online and ordered 3 more packages for the office and home. Goodbye ballpoint pens! Hello, my dear Signo Gel Pen!

These are great pens. The ink dries fairly fast so it does not smudge as easy. They write smoothly, also. The perfect pen for my journaling.

Usually, my problem with pens is they fail to write properly because of the spotty ink flow. These seem to be fairly nice pens for the price. The batch I got all seem to write fluidly and smoothly. That's not to say you may get the occasional pen that fails to write when it should. That would be asking too much expecting perfection from dollar writing instruments. But I like them enough to order again.

I was prompted by an eFriend of mine to a YouTube vidwo concerning the washing of checks. This pen write indelable checks. In other words, it can not be washed and altered to assist a thief.

I'm rather picky about my writing utensils. This is probably the best disposable pen I've used (for comfort and security reasons.) The nature of my studies forces me to write a lot, so I need something that has a smooth flow and a nice comfortable rubber grip. Anything that's too skinny will cause my hands to cramp up. This pen is pretty much perfect!

Some people have complained that this pen will smear, or might not write on some surfaces. Well, this is true. If you use this pen to write on glossy paper, you'll find smears, or it might not grab at all. I guess that's the nature of the ink. Fortunately, I'm usually writing on plain paper, so it's not an issue for me at all.

One might also want to pay attention to the security advantages these pens offer. The ink soaks into the paper (plain paper or the paper that checks are printed on) and won't come out when common household chemicals are applied. Basically, what you write on a check stays on the check! You won't have to worry about someone rubbing off the ink with something like nail polish remover (or some other solvent) and changing the value of your check.

The Signo Uniball 207 pens, which I purchased from Amazon, are the best pens that I have owned and used. They compare to some Japanese pens which are not available in this country. They produce a very black line, and flow easily onto the page. They are an outstanding product in my judgment.
