As a teacher, I use tons of pens and go through many each year. This is my all-time favorite. The pen is comfortable to hold, thanks to the rubberized grip area. It writes without pushing or effort, although I can push hard if I am writing on a carbon copy. The ink is dark. I have had no problems with the pens breaking, although maybe I use them up more quickly than others, so they don't get old enough to break. I not only recommend these, but give them as gifts to other teachers.

After writing for years with Pilot's G-2 pens, I thought I'd never fall in love with a plastic pen again. That was until I met the Uni-Ball Signo 207. Now when faced with the task of picking a G-2 or a 207 from my desk drawer, I hesitate. Like the G-2, it's refillable, reducing waste. The Signo 207 has smooth flowing ink that seems to last forever, a sharp fine point making the writing look elegant and as far as looks, it appears much more classy and expensive than the G-2 when it comes to plastic pens.

There's a reviewer here who gave it one star; saying it's the worst pen for a left-hander ever. I wanted to provide another perspective. As a left-hander myself; I actually found this to be THE BEST PEN for a left-hander. Here is why: The ink doesn't run; it doesn't smudge; it doesn't get all over the pad of my hand like almost every pen in the world does; it doesn't smear, it doesn't fade, it delivers gel from my hand, to the paper, in a controlled consistent manner. The ink is black, and stays black, fairly fade resistant, and the textured grip is nice. The medium ball works very well; I have also the fine ball, and it does NOT work as well, because if you write on paper that is a bit more fiberous, the fibers jam up the fine point; it doesn't do so on the medium point.

I have used the pilot G2's and I do feel these are vastly superior pens.

One thing I have noticed though; if you leave them somewhere hot (like inside your car, or by a window) and you store them upside down, or even lay them flat, then the gel when warmed does run around, and so the best way to get consistency out of them is to store them tip recessed; and standing upright. If you follow that one simple rule, then this is the best writing pen. I have a Monte Blanc, and my wife has an array of fine pens. I can tell you, I reach for this one every time.

One of the things that is worth mentioning a second time is; I bought these pens initially to avoid check fraud; I noticed that a lot of the pens I had, if you just take an eraser to them, the ink basically can be erased without even washing the check. This pen doesn't. The ink stays put, and doesn't fade or wash out; so I don't sign checks with any other pens if I can help it.

I just wrote a full page, and I'm looking at my left hand right now, and NOT A SINGLE SMUDGE ON MY HAND. As a left hander, that speaks volumes.

I got these pens for their security features but I found that these are very jealous pens. When you first get them they write wonderfully with very smooth and silky ink flows. If you put them into a drawer for week or so they will feel jealous and neglected and will not write well. Neglect them again and use other pens they will become very jealous and refuse to write at all. I have had over 10 of these pens in different colors and every one has stopped working after using only a small fraction of the available ink. All standard methods to revive the beginning relationship with its smooth and flowing line failed miserably.

These pens write okay...most of the time. The trouble is that they tend to 'skip'-- they randomly quit writing. Usually, a quick scratch on a scrap of paper (or even a fingertip) will get the pen writing again. For what I do with them, they're OK. If I were working on something where I needed to have a pen that consistently wrote 100% of the time, I would try another pen.

These are okay in a pinch, but not my favorite rollerball pen. I am a rollerball fanatic, always looking for the perfect black one. Sometimes you get a pen out of the pack with these that writes perfectly. Other times, you get a scratchy one that barely writes. For the price, it's not worth it. I spend more and get Sharpie brand fine point pens, which write well, last a LONG time and have very dark ink (as I prefer). They're not "perfect", but are better than this.

I can't tell you why, but half the time these pens don't work well for me. Maybe its because I don't use them regularly and the ink dries. Maybe it's my writing style. For whatever reason, sometimes these are smooth for me, sometimes they are only marginally better than cheap bic pens that are 1/10th the price.

I have used uni-ball Signo Gel 207 pens before and always appreciated them for their pen comfort and ink quality. In the past, I bought them from the local Staples/Office Max but was surprised to find them for a much better value on Amazon. Unfortunately, when the pack of pens arrived, I found them to be of lower quality than I was used to. The build and quality appears to be great but when I write with them, the ink does not come out smoothly, and sometimes requires the "scratching back and forth on paper" to make it come out. I thought that it might just be a few bad pens but so far, I've used 7, and 5 of them have had this problem. Judging from the other 1 or 2 star reviews, it seems like I'm not the only customer with this problem. I also bought the Pilot G2 pens from Amazon and had no problems with those, so I recommend you buy those pens instead.
