can this unit drain via hose to a pip 6 feet high? I need to drain this up via hose to an opening 6 feet high, in a pvc drain in the basement. Anyone doing this?

You'll need a condensate sump pump to do this.

I built a sturdy shelf five feet off the basement floor so that my dehumidfier could drain outside without the need for a pump. You will need to build raised edges on the shelf so that the dehumidifier can't vibrate itself off the shelf.

Won't that mean that the DAMP humid air near the floor won't get dried?
