Can I use this with unpowered speakers? Does it have a built-in amp (like a T-Amp?)

i have tried it with headphones as loud as the computer signal is is how loud the music was

No. This little device does not have an amp built in. I have it hooked to Line 2 In on my receiver. You could hook it up to a powered speaker.

Speakers must be powered. This device, however, works great. Cannot beat it for the price.

No, this unit does not provide amplifier power. It must be connected to an audio amplifier or receiver which itself will drive passive speakers.
Of course, the unit will perform well with self-powered speakers.

No it acts as a signal source only so it requires a separate amp

No, it requires amplified speakers. I use with a set of amplified PC speakers.

It does not have internal power, and an external amp must be used. I've seen people order this amp to use with it. Lepai LP-2020A+ Tripath TA2020 Class-T Hi-Fi Audio Amplifier with Power Supply
