As its title implies, "Unwind" is a soothing collection of original piano solos by pianist/composer Louis Landon. A jazz pianist with an impressive list of performing credentials, both as a soloist and as part of various bands and combos, Landon has an easy, melodic style that is warmly optimistic and accessible, yet complex enough to keep it interesting with repeated listens. I hear a lot of relaxing piano music, but "Unwind" stands out as an exceptional CD with its quiet sophistication and gentle elegance."My Brooke" opens the CD with a sweetly melodic love song. Lyrical and a little bit wistful, this is a lovely beginning. "I Can See" is just a shade darker and somewhat more introspective - perhaps a kind of musical soliloquy. Very nice! "Feel" has a warm, easy grace about it that is almost conversational. "Mindfulness" is more abstract and ambient with lots of open space between the chords - interesting and evocative. "Peaceful" is the perfect title for this gorgeous piece - a gentle musical massage for the mind. "Freefalling" has a floating, dreamy quality that meanders at its own pace. "Alone" is one of my favorites. A little more melancholy than the other pieces, its intimacy and emotional honesty are deeply felt. "Music For Michael" returns to a somewhat more ambient, improvisational style that drifts along at its own unhurried pace. "Childhood's End" closes the set with an emotional free-form piece that is reflective and touching. "Unwind" is Louis Landon's sixth CD to date, but is the first one I've heard. It's a treat for the ears and mind, and the perfect way to de-stress and relax. Good stuff! If you visit [...], but sure to check out his vocal piece, "Donald Trump Can Kiss My Butt" on the "CD's" page - it's a hoot!

«Unwind» is a debut of a an acknowledged musician Louis Landon in the new age genre who appeared on scene together with many jazz celebrities and who is also well-known for his works for television and a number of successful albums recorded by him already. From the very first seconds «Unwind» makes you feel quiet. This is the music of serenity and harmony. You just can stay alone with you thoughts and feelings and listen to very sincere, emotional music by Louis Landon. In essence «Unwind» is an album-improvisation. Louis Landon's music is very ingenious, without hesitation he splashes out all he possesses at the moment. He just likes to share his emotions with those around him, to give a part of his heart up. By its sounding «Unwind» resembled the best works of legendary Windham Hill Records to me. And it is not by chance as far as editing and mastering of the album is made by Corin Nelsen at William Ackerman's Imaginary Road Studious. And it was William Ackerman who encouraged Louis Landon with advice and support. Just so a long improvisation turned to a short composition «Majestic Sunrise» which appears to be one of the most splendid on the disc. In general «Unwind» does not include weak compositions. The album is being listened to as a single whole. This music is free of false significance. The musician has enough to be shared with others and he does it in very gentle and delicate manner. His piano solo is masterly. You really get pleasure from this music. It is alongside with you like this bright sunny day which came not for a special purpose but just for the reason that it could not be otherwise. And the sun shines just for the reason that it cannot but shines and warms you with its rays. And a flower, you see it before your eyes, it is in blossom, it is just destined to bloom. And the album «Unwind» is like a beautiful flower which is blooming out its petals to the rising sun. There is a real life in this music. It just exists here and now... «Unwind» is the music of genuine feelings. In peace and clarity of mind Released from heavy burdens Of imposed chores and false objectives You'll find a perfect bliss to live And be enjoying life And sacrificing no thing To none... I love this CD. I play it while reading and studying. I actually listen to it while laying down. It puts me in a very relaxing mode to fall asleep. And that's exactly what I bought it for. There are no words to cause me to sing and no drum beats to cause me to bounce! Absolutely relaxing!

I bought this CD because I heard "Music For Michael" on Pandora and fell in love with the piece; however, after listening to the entire disc, I am now thrilled I have a whole CD of Louis Landon! It's lovely, relaxing and simply a joy to listen to. I listen to it at work and everyone asks me what "station" I'm listening to. Enjoy this CD... I sure do.
