Does it come with the usual flash and in a box set? Does it operate on batterires/ rechargeable batterires?

no flash, therefore no batteries needed. You can buy one with a flash elsewhere.

This a retro camera, it works without batteries. You can add a flash but it´s an add on.

no flash (can buy seperately) and no batteries needed. It is just an awesome piece of Retro Americana that allows you to create, rather than take pictures of things.

The Diana Mini is packaged in a box with a neat little book but not with a flash unit. No batteries needed for this camera. A fun camera that works best if you use a simple light meter to measure the light to match the fixed shutter speed and f-stop of the lens to the film speed. Enjoy.
