5.0 out of 5 stars Incredibly fascinating atmosphere of life in the jungle!, February 12, 1999

This review is from: Un viejo que leía novelas de amor (Mass Market Paperback)
Sepulveda has opened up a completely new world for me. What it is like to be an inhabitant of the South American jungle. The personal life of a modern man who "goes native". The author makes life in the jungle come alive. Intrusion of modern abuses is clearly delineated. The wildlife of the animal life is very much a part of the world this novel presents. Also the conflict of traditional culture (that is in retreat) versus the total lack of understanding that some outsiders exhibit. This very short novel is indeed a masterpiece. I was not able to put it down!
