I am REALLY on the fence about getting this set.

The problem is that if the BD releases are the same for the Hobbit, there will be no single film "special extended editions" that I can just add to THIS set. They will sell the theatrical version in the individual BD form and then will later release a package with all 5 films in the special extended edition form. (Notice you can't find any of the films sold invidually in the special extended editions in Blu-Ray like you can with the DVDs).

This is my guess because it will make them the most profit.

I wanted to rewatch all these extended editions on Blu-Ray before the Hobbit shows, but... :-/
