Product Description

Product Description

About the waterBOB:
The waterBOB is a water containment system that holds up to 100 gallons of fresh drinking water in virtually any bathtub in the event of an emergency. The waterBOB keeps water fresh and clean for drinking, cooking, washing and sanitation for up to 12 weeks. Constructed of tough, heavy-duty plastic, the waterBOB stays within FDA food grade guidelines and is BPA-free.
Never Be Without Water:
A hurricane, tropical storm, flood or storm surge can interrupt or even contaminate your water supply. Water stored in an open bathtub, with dirt, soap film and exposure to debris will spoil and become useless. With the waterBOB you and your loved ones will never have to risk ingesting contaminated water.
Always be Prepared:
While others rush to the store for bottled water, only to find empty shelves, or wait in line for water with dirty containers, taking the risk by drinking potentially hazardous water, you will feel secure knowing that the clean, fresh water stored in your waterBOB is available for you, your family and your pets too!
Easy Instructions:
The waterBOB is very easy to use. Simply lay the liner in any bathtub, attach the fill sock to the faucet and fill the bladder to capacity, which takes approximately 20-40 minutes, depending on your water flow. A siphon pump is included to easily dispense the water into jugs or pitchers. Never wait in line again to buy expensive bottled water.

This is a must have for anyone worried about losing power and water. I live in Florida and during a hurricane I used mine. We went with out power and water for a week. This water bladder really saved our bacon! we did not have to wait in a water line at the fire station like so many others. I keep reading people saying this is a one time use item. I rinsed the inside out with organic apple vinager and spring water and then used a shop vac to dry the inside of mine. There has been no mildew or foul odors I would use it again with confidence.

The WaterBOB arrived ahead of schedule. I'd seen a similiar item on a disaster preparedness website (AlphaRubicon) and was very happy to find one online for a decent price. As a Sheriff Deputy in South Louisiana disaster preparedness is no joke. The plastic is food grade and is thick and durable (plenty tough enough for sitting in your bathtub). The pump is not going to wow any one, but it will get the job done. Those of you who are worried about light and the water getting skunky (my small bathroom has no windows so not a concern of mine) throw a blanket (tarp, shower curtain...whatever) over the tub.

This is a great product. Based on research, it has all the bells and whistles and better materials then competitive products. If you go to the manufacturers web site, you can watch a video of the installation, use, and drainage of the product. Also, it has a well laid out FAQ section.

Something to consider, these types of bladders are designed as single use. If you fill up the bladder and then don't end up using it, you can either slit the side with a knife or use the included pump to start a siphon effect into the tub drain and it will drain itself within about 60 minutes. While I am not a fan of it, other users have reported draining, cleaning and refolding the bladder for a second emergency usage.

As I write this the company has not released refill kits but I hear they are working on that.

Enjoy!

I live in Hurricane country...not the heart of it but we get schwacked as they move north pretty regularly. I also live on the water (yes, I know, I know) and deal with the nor'easters coming in now and again. In short, power can and does go out for up to 9 days when these things occur.

Being the thrify sort I do consider the cost per gallon as well as the space required for anything I have tucked away for emergencies. Those hard sided water containers are very sturdy, but they also take up enormous amounts of room and 2 of them are more than the current Amazon price for the waterBob with less than 1/6th the water storage. The collapsable water carriers are smaller to store and I do have those, but they also cost more per gallon by a long shot. The disposable mylar ones are a cheap option, but they are VERY difficult to get around without puncturing.

All in all, considering space required for storage and the cost per gallon, the waterBob is by far the cheapest and best option.

Color me skeptical but I like to try everything before I trust in it during an emergency. So, I picked up one of these and used it. I filled it pretty quickly and without any mess at all. It all went into the Bob and not slopping around in the tub. The form fit the tub almost perfectly and it filled completely. The siphon thingie works fabulously and I really like how it shrinks down as the water empties and keeps air out. Nice feature there.

But, like all things, there is a catch. This product is absolutely a one use item. I fiddled about with it trying to figure out a way to re-use it if I were ever in a situation where it couldn't be replaced. And no, there's no way to dry it out. I tried a blow drier up near the tube...uh, yes, that was dumb. I tried it though.

I bought several Waterbob directly from the WaterBob website and gave them out to all of my family members which is a great tool for storing water in case of emergencies where tap water would be subject to contamination or lack of distribution due to no electricity (for water pumps). It's clean and more convenient in a waterbob 'bladder' than the surface of a bathtub especially for drinking. Highly recommend it for any coastal areas subject to multiple of severe hurricane strikes... especially for island areas where evacuation to other states is not easily done with massive cost. It's for one use only, so it's best to fill it just before a strike occurs. The question I have is if an emergency doesn't occur within 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 years, will the Waterbob hold up while being in storage? No way to test it each year like other items in the emergency kit. Other than that, it's a great emergency tool.

I like how people actually gave this a negative review because they were unsure of the taste. Look - this is for emergency use. If you find yourself having to use this, some really bad s*** has obviously happened. So unless you're a complete, self-centered pig that thinks you're entitled to taste ANYTHING in an emergency, then taste will be the last friggen thing on your mind and you will just be happy knowing you have some water. I'm giving this 5 stars even if it tastes like Gorilla piss. You worry about what things taste like, I'm going to worry about surviving.
