It's mainly plastic with metal beams that secure the seat belts

Yes car seat is top rated and my little girl and I love perego it my second one
It's diffinately a strong sturdy seat for kids price speaks for itself .

If you mean inside, I am not sure, but it is very sturdy. I imagine it is metal. Well-made, in Italy, not China.
