So 2KSPORTS have finally taken the NBA franchise themselves with no competiton. We are in trouble. They wont do anything exciting next year because there is no other NBA game except thru them. As much as i love 2K never played LIVE on current consoles I know disaster is about to hit us. Thanks to MJ for killing the competion! 2K12 by the way is great but the future is dark. If u dont believe me then look at Madden they throw out crap bcos no competition. Even NFL fans hate the MADDEN 12. We need EA to step up.

NBA is a couple of feet under the ground.
It will live again next year.

EA will never create an NBA game like 2K.

O. Beach says:
Don't worry, there will be competition from EA in 2012. EA's 2010-11 season NBA simulator was in development, they decided to rename 'NBA Live' to 'NBA Elite', but they botched the game itself, HORRIBLY, creating a massive disruption to their sports brand. They originally planned to release NBA Elite 11 as a $60 title w/ a free download of the new NBA Jam, but mere weeks before the release date, it had to be pushed back, (a huge sports games no no), and ultimately scrapped altogether. Between Elite's own troubles and the amazing GOTY candidate, NBA 2k11 w/ MJ, there was just no saving their game. They were so far in that they already had a cover athlete (Dwight Howard) and released a demo. The setback was so harsh that they chose to sell NBA Jam as a full fledged $60 title to have some sort of NBA game on shelves and recoup whatever they could. They also chose to skip Elite 12; the extended cycle allows them more time to shoot for something that hopefully compares to 2k's elevated excellence. EA hasn't bowed out of the NBA game, Elite 13 is in the works. It's still doubtful they'll meet or beat 2k's next entry, but they'll give it something to compete with and motivation to excel more, which sounds like the very thing you're looking for.
