Ipod Nano or Shuffle are your best options for excercise. They are small and light. The touch is your second best bet, but not as convienient because it is much larger and heavier than the Nano or Shuffle. The Ipod Classic is the worst for the gym because it is the only Ipod that has moving parts inside instead of a flash based memory. Therefore constantly jolting it is not recommended and may damage it.
