What have you made in a Rival Hot Pot? If you live in a dorm, you know lots of students have this handy little pot. But I am wondering what can I make in this beside hot beverages and heating up canned soup? I'd like to push the limits and expand its usefulness.
I don't use it to cook in, but instead use it to boil body parts that I make out of polymer clay - I make art dolls, so I assure you it isn't nearly as disturbing as it sounds. If you're using this for cooking, and you're curious to push the limits, you could make homemade soups, boil pasta and make mac&cheese, make couscous, literally anything that requires boiling water or liquids. Just be careful about using oils or fats in the items you cook in this hot pot, because since the walls are made with plastic, they are porous, and will absorb fats, which can taint the flavors of your foods, and will not come truly clean.
Re: Rival 4071-WN 32-Ounce Hot Pot Express. I have this little pot for just over 4 weeks and boiled only water for morning coffee in it. The heating element plate is badly pitted and rusting all around, though the pot is emptied and dried after each use. I wouldn't buy it again nor recommend it to anyone!
