Your best bet is to go to the Nikon web site to confirm this. I believe it is compatible

Yes it will work with nikon d5200 as long as you do not care about download speed. I bought one wasted my money.

I have the Nikon D5200 and it came with my package but is ALMOST a complete waste (in my opinion). Transfer camera pics to YOUR phone with the Nikon app if you are within about 25 feet. When I say transfer it first transfer a small display of ALL current photos onto your phone and you then select the photos you actually want to download to your device. Time consuming and of limited use for me. It does allow your smartphone to release the shutter as a remote though but a wireless remote for this camera is sold on Amazon for under $5. You can put your SD card into any PC and sort and send way faster and more effiecently.
