Dennis Lehane did an interview with PEOPLE magazine a few years ago and said he would never write another mystery--even if his publisher pulled up with a dump truck full of money. He said if one couldn't figure out the plot/ending after a few pages, they weren't very smart. So now, Mr. Lehane, why would I buy this book?

"Live By Night". Buy the book, go to the library...just read it. Ken Follett left the thriller, mystery genre and still writes magnificently. I would compare Dennis Lehane's last two books to Follett's Century Trilogy. They even cover the same time periods and both still need to publish number three for their avid readers. Lots of history from different perspectives with believable human characters. Both authors make you feel like you are there. What more could you want?
