All this happens in real time, allowing you to explore the features of the app as if it were running on your mobile device.

Product Description

You know how in the movies, the crumbling, ancient city in the middle of the jungle is always overgrown with vines? That's the scene in InfeCCt, a contagiously entertaining puzzle game for Android.

These creepers slowly but surely cover the tiles
These creepers slowly but surely cover the tiles
Creepy

The vines are growing like wildfire, but you alone control their path. The challenge is to guide them in connecting each and every tile on the grid without crossing any square twice (except the special tiles that require it). Sounds easy, right?

The vines go in, the vines go out...
The vines go in, the vines go out...

Not so fast, intrepid explorer. To solve the puzzles you'll have to deal with blocking tiles, vexing intersections, and color-coded tunnels. It all adds up to a puzzling challenge.

Oops, Wrong Way

If you miss a tile or get stuck somewhere, you can always backtrack--but it will cost you points. You're also on the clock, and if you take too long to find the solution you can just forget about a bonus, pal. There's a Solve button you can use if you're really stumped, but you get no points at all if you use it.

InfeCCt features top-notch graphics, clever animations, and a haunting soundtrack. With more than 300 levels to unlock, you'll spend a lot of time wrapped up in this infeCCtious game.

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent, Room for Improvement November 3, 2011
By A. Pena
So first off, I try to take games (and even books/movies) and judge them for what they are. This is a puzzle game, so expect to be puzzled.

I've played a bit, and it's a fun concept, here are the pros and cons:

Pros:
- Challenging puzzles, it gets pretty tough, and I imagine it will only get harder.
- Each level goes relatively quickly, and if you stop playing a particular level it will save your progress on that level for next time.
- If you get stuck, there's a solution button to tell you how it's done.
- Permissions aren't ridiculous! Finally an app that isn't asking for access to everything on your phone.

Cons:
- It's not ugly by any means, but there could be variation in level design and new themes. (Maybe there is further on? I doubt it though)
- You can't skip ahead to play more advanced levels. You unlock 8 levels at a time, and you need to beat them before moving on.
- Maybe I'm just weird, but you can't replay a level to improve your score. Any level you replay is just for fun, and your initial score is set forever (well, you can make a new profile, but then you have to start all over). I understand that replaying a level would make it very easy to get a high score, but there's something very frustrating about a low score. Just let me do it again please.
- Replay value? It's a fun concept, and I'll probably play it here and there, but it's not a game I'll play a ton (like I do with Cut the Rope). I think it lacks the charm of some puzzle games.

If I could I'd probably give a 3.5, but at any rate it's worth a shot, especially if you're a bigger puzzle fan than I am (I do really like a game called refraction which is definitely a puzzle game).

2.0 out of 5 stars No replay??? November 4, 2011

I like puzzle games, and this one could be fun. I had no problems with the app loading, and game play is smooth. The lack of the ability to replay a level is a serious omission on the part of the developers and a deal killer for me. At least it was free.

4.0 out of 5 stars very similar November 3, 2011
Verified Purchase
I'm not really a puzzle person, but the pictures of the app looked very similar to Dream Works, so I thought I'd give it a shot. And it really is just like Dream Works, only a little better cause you can take a little more time to solve the puzzle.
I agree that it is kinda lame that you can't replay a level to get a higher score, but I s'pose that also makes sense, since, so far anyway, there's really only one way to do the puzzles, and once you've done them you know how to do it....
At any rate, it's a good enough game to keep me entertained for a while. :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Three cheers November 3, 2011
Test devices:
Samsung Epic, Android 2.2 official
Viewsonic gTablet, Brilliant Corners (Android 2.2)

Gameplay - Kind of like good old Snake, but you have to cover every square inch of the place, one block at a time. While you can take your time to plot your course out, time is being kept and can affect your score. If you need to step back, score deductions hit you, so you'll want to try to keep those to a minimum. It's pretty fun, trying to visualize and remember the course you worked out to get you around.

Controls - Controls are dead simple, just poke at the next block to go too, individually or drag. Very responsive and accurate.

Graphics - Nicely done all the way around.

Sounds - Music and sounds are all nice and mellow, fitting in with the graphical theme really well.

Stability & Performance - Overall, the game was smooth to play.

Extras - Leaderboard for posting up your high scores and seeing how everyone else did.

3.0 out of 5 stars Average puzzle game November 3, 2011
Verified Purchase
Gameplay:
It's quite simple. So simple in fact it loses its appeal after 10 levels. The level simply won't advance until you enter the one correct pattern.

Graphics:
Screen transitions are pretty and animated, but FPS even on high end devices seem choppy. It's almost as if the eye candy was thrown in to offset the simplistic gameplay.

Price:
Who can beat free? But I would not be inclined to pay for this game otherwise.

Sound:
The music is autonomous and gets old after awhile. Reminds me of Kona's Crate. No music options, only all sound on / all sound off.

Overall:
This game could have been accomplished on an 8 bit system, but the only coolness to the graphics is the load and transition screen. There is really no flair to it, and it's not engaging enough to keep me coming back. I would use this game to keep my 5 year old quiet on car trips lasting more than 20 minutes.

Sorry, not into FAOTD politics, offsetting, or trolling.

3.0 out of 5 stars not bad, a real thinking game, not so much action game. November 3, 2011
By rc
Graphics are ok, nothing to celebrate over. Doesn't need great graphics for its simple game idea. Would not pay for it, but for free its a middle of the ground fun game. 3 stars.

2.0 out of 5 stars Puzzle mechanism tires quickly
Interesting at first, but too simple after the first few puzzles. It penalizes for thinking about the solution (time based).

Well I have played through it twice and both times on the last puzzle it crashes so you cannot finish it to check high scores. Seriously what's the deal?
