The Darkest Night,
By Kellyannl (Bronx, NY USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: xxxHolic, Vol. 15 (Paperback)
In this volume of Holic, Watanuki continues giving his all for his first customer as he tries to help his charge - the cooking student whose case seems tailor made for him. But Yuko, who never really does anything without a purpose, had a reason for entrusting a case to him - and the reason why will send shockwaves through the entire Tsubasa/Holic multiverse.
This is one of those volumes that one cannot say too much about without major spoilers. One realizes in hindsight that the end result of what happens has been foreshadowed at several points in the series, but the circumstances shock and somehow we still are not quite prepared. Suffice it to say that it changes the series even more than the revelation of Himawari's secret did and will undoubtedly have infinitely more fallout in time to come. For once, readers will be glad for the wait between volumes. It will take some time to digest what has happened.

I got to say, it will take some time...,

to either slowly absorb the ambiance of it, or speed read thru the few sentences within this Manga. I've enjoyed the laid back takubans from this one and can embrace the smooth and cooling ride with each one.
But that's my warning to those who have not bought this series. It. Is. Slow.. if you had all 15 takubans and sat down in one sitting and read them all. You'd be done in twenty minutes. Anyway; it is vol. 15 and buying this without starting from the beginning makes no sense what so ever. Trust me. Those who are buying it as they have already bought the last 14... Well, this comment aint fer yo'all. |
