5.0 out of 5 stars Great game, fun for all ages, May 7, 2000

We have had this game (an older version) of it for 8 years now! Granted it's geared toward younger children, but all 3 of my children have loved it and can still enjoy playing it (they are now 5, 8, and 10). If you like Yahtzee, it's a great introduction to the game for the young ones. It helps with counting and matching and some basic strategy skills. It's a great family game, because the younger ones can manage it easily, and the older ones and Mom and Dad will enjoy playing too. It's not like some of the other early childhood games that you just dread to play with your kids. And who doesn't love Mickey Mouse!

5.0 out of 5 stars A fun game for the family, November 28, 2000

Our three kids love this game. The youngest (2 years old) is too young really understand, but she's capable of rolling the dice and handing us the correct piece. The 4 and 9 year old enjoy it, even though it is a little simple for the 9 year old (she likes the regular Yahtzee too). The four year old needs a little help deciding what to do, but not much, and they all love the Disney characters.

My family used to have this game and have been searching for it for years. Everyone in the family can play although it is best for kids ages 4-7. Even the 2-year old likes to play. (actually she likes to shake the dice.)It is a great game, which every family with small children who like Mickey Mouse and his gang should have!

4.0 out of 5 stars Four Goofys and a Mickey later... we loved this game!, September 20, 2001

First off, I have to say -- I hate everything Disney. I don't read Disney books, my kids don't watch Disney movies. But somebody bought this game for us, so we got stuck playing it for an afternoon.

The kids were enthusiastic, and the rules were VERY easy to figure out. Despite their simplicity, I suspect this is a game we'll end up playing over and over, because -- believe it or not -- its play very nearly matches (on a kiddy level) the challenge of the adult version.

Though the combinations such as Full House and Small/Large Straight are missing from this version, kids still get a chance to decide how they're going to use the dice they've ended up with and whether or not they're going to roll again. This decision making gives this game an intellectual edge over many other games for this age range.

As I expected, though, I am thoroughly repelled by the Disney characters everywhere. Game play forces children to say the names of the characters over and over ("I've got four Donalds and a Goofy"), and the whole thing felt like we were in a Disney commercial ("Hooray! Three Mickeys!!"). How hard would it have been for Milton Bradley to come up with a generic theme such as sports (baseballs, soccer balls, etc) or symbols (hearts, stars, moons)?

But if you can stomach the Disney factor, I have to admit that this is an excellent game; perfect for parents who love Yahtzee and want to share it with their kids.

Playability on Shabbat: YES!!! (no batteries, electronics or writing)

My 4 year old son got this game for Hanukah and we have not stopped playing it since! We even brought this game on our vacation - we took the dice, cards and board in a zip lock bag and gave us hours of entertainment while on the beach! My son looks forward to playing with us each night before bed. He is learning how to add us his score by himself! He now can count dice visually, rather than counting them up. He plays this game with friends, aunts, uncles, grandparents and great grandmother!!! Everyone of all ages loves it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great game - even for parents, May 17, 2003

My 4-year old loves this game, and consequently I have played it about 50,000 times. I actually enjoy it also. In games like Candyland and Chutes and Ladders, I usually end up cheating just to make the miserable game end (I'm not mean - I usually cheat to let my son win :). I usually don't get tired of this one. There are lots of things that will occupy a 4-year old. It is difficult to find something that will occupy the young and old alike.

This is a very good game. My almost 4 year old daughter loves the game. Has some basic intellectual qualities but can really make an adult think - not pure luck. Good family fun....still mix up Pluto with Goofy :)

We received this game as a gift and both my boys can enjoy playing it. The 5yr old helps the other count the number of matching dices and where to put his token. The 2yr old loves to shout Yahtzee and is increasing his vocabulary with the characters names. Highly recommend!

This game brings back memories of playing the original yahtzee as a child. It is fun for the entire family. The only drawback is there is only one card to play with so I made copies so everyone now has their own. Overall, it is a well made game.

We bought this game for our twin 6 yr old girls and they love it! It is a fun family game. It is very easy to learn and they play it over and over. And they can play just the two of them, no need for a parent to remind them of the rules.

Great game, a definite must for your family.
