5.0 out of 5 stars Solves the slippage problem
This was recommended to me by my yoga teacher...very useful if you practice Ashtanga or other "vinyasa flow" (i.e. sweaty!) yoga. It's the exact size of a standard yoga mat, it doesn't bunch up and trip me when I'm trying to jump through, and it absolutely stops my hands and feet from slipping. Plus, it folds up a lot smaller than a blanket and is easier to fit in a mat...

It's the exact size of a standard yoga mat, it doesn't bunch up and trip me when I'm trying to jump through, and it absolutely stops my hands and feet from slipping. 2.0 out of 5 stars no traction for my feet in down dog, December 21, 2006
This review is from: yogitoes® SKIDLESS® Yoga Mat Towel + Free (random color) activator mister combo by Absolute Yogi (Misc.)
I was so frustrated with those so called "sticky mats", my hands would slide forward in simple poses like downward facing dog.
So I decided to give the $50 skidless yoga towel a try.
This worked pretty well for my slipping hands, but i had a new problem. I was unable to get traction for my feet and felt as though they would slip up when in many of the commonly practiced poses in yoga. (downward facing dog, even poses like triangle and extended side angle). I really tried giving this towel a chance but ended up purchasing a harmony yoga mat (those rubber mats) which greatly reduced my slippery yoga experiences.
I would not recommend the skidless towel for your entire mat, maybe you may have better luck with just the hand towel.
I realized with yoga mats that every person is different, so what doesn't work for me, may work for you. I just thought I would give my 2 cents.

5.0 out of 5 stars FINALLY, March 3, 2007
This review is from: yogitoes® SKIDLESS® Yoga Mat Towel + Free (random color) activator mister combo by Absolute Yogi (Misc.)
This is exactly what I wanted!
I've had so many slipping problems in my Ashtanga yoga class. Both my hands and feet would slide and it was soooo hard to hold poses. Here is the answer!
It works great! I'm very happy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best purchase for sweaty yogis!, August 31, 2006
This review is from: yogitoes® SKIDLESS® Yoga Mat Towel + Free (random color) activator mister combo by Absolute Yogi (Misc.)
After sweating and slipping in many a vinyasa class (even on a "non-slip" mat), a friend recommended this yoga towel. This product has saved my yoga practice! It does take one or two classes to get used to, but once you do, you are off to non-slip yoga bliss. Plus, the well-placed circle at the top of the mat gives you a visual to focus on to stay centered. Thank you Yogitoes!

5.0 out of 5 stars Skidless if you are sweaty - great for Bikram hot yoga, April 25, 2006
This review is from: yogitoes® SKIDLESS® Yoga Mat Towel + Free (random color) activator mister combo by Absolute Yogi (Misc.)
It can be just a bit slippy at first but as soon as you sweat it gives you good grip. Expensive for a towel but I love all the colors - end up getting more from AbsoluteYogi that comes with spray bottle. Great for mister my face during hot yoga.

One more thing - don't forget to wash twice before use. The color will bleed so don't mix with other clothes. Also VERY IMPORTANT don't overload the dryer with a SKIDLESS inside. It will make horrible noises because of the nubs sticking to the sides of the dryer and caused the load not to rotate properly inside the dryer. It caused my towel a light burn mark as it was "stuck" so that the vent where the hot air comes in constantly heat just one spot on the load where my towel happened to be.

Finally found the answer to my "slippage" problem. What a difference it makes in my routine! My only regret is that I didn't purchase it months ago!

5.0 out of 5 stars truly skidless, and washable to boot, July 14, 2007
This review is from: yogitoes® SKIDLESS® Yoga Mat Towel + Free (random color) activator mister combo by Absolute Yogi (Misc.)
I want to give the person who created this thing a hug.
It is very soft on the top, and has tons of tiny little rubber-like dots on the bottom, which grip the floor or yoga mat underneath like the toes of a tree frog. I used to slip all over the place on my mat, and I don't move at all on this. Makes for a stellar down dog!

1.0 out of 5 stars Not so good., October 23, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This mat is essentially a thin towel with rubber rivets on the bottom for traction. I'm a pretty big guy at 6'0" and 230 lbs. I could not use this mat for yoga at all. The mat slips A LOT! My feet would end up getting bunched up in the mat and it ended up being more distracting and uncomfortable than anything else. I think that I am going to try one of those thick rubber mats instead. Good luck!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for Bikram, absorbs all sweat!, August 7, 2008

This review is from: yogitoes® SKIDLESS® Yoga Mat Towel + Free (random color) activator mister combo by Absolute Yogi (Misc.)
Bought this for doing "hot" yoga, and I love it. Works well for absorbing sweat. Read the other reviews that said that the colors ran, so I bought a white one. If I wear bright colored clothing to class, the colors sweat into the towel! Now it's a light purple/gray color, but the towel still works fine. I might buy a second one because I use it everyday. Can't imagine using it twice in a row without washing.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good slippage control for hands, but not feet, February 12, 2006
This review is from: yogitoes® SKIDLESS® Yoga Mat Towel + Free (random color) activator mister combo by Absolute Yogi (Misc.)
I have this in pink, which was only made for October 2005, for Breast Cancer Awareness month. I love the color of mine. I considered buying one for quite a while, but didn't like the chakra color selection. I wanted something more pastel, so fortunately I was shopping for it in October. Current color selection is a minus.

This towel is really good for controlling slippage in my hands, but not my feet. My feet seem to slip more than usual, so I don't use this towel frequently. It seems to work better when I am sweating more. I also have a theory that fabric softener may make it more slippery, but that's just a theory.

It's also a bit of a pain to deal with when moving into poses where I need to move or fold the mat.

Currently my mat is on it's last legs, so it helps helps keep me from getting little chunks of mat all over myself while I find the perfect mat to replace it. It's good for extending the life of your mat.
