I am old fashioned and do not use my camera to shoot video. In fact, I have so many thousands of feet of old home movies that I hope to never be involved in any type of video shoot ever again. But, if I remember correctly from perusing the instructios, I believe you can zoom while shooting a video. I know that SONY itself has a very good tech support system at its web site, and I have used that unit to answer questions on my Cybershot.

Yes you can. You can zoom in and out as you are recording. You can also take pictures as you are recording. Not as easy as the Sony that I had previously. But you can.
