Didn't Work with Quest 2

Old:This is a really really nice cable, and even though it didn't work with my meta Quest 2, i was able to get it to work with other stuff, Webcam, mouse keyboard, etc. Oculus Software just does not see my Meta Quest 2, i ran the USB direct to Motherboard 3.1 and SS ports, but it simply could not locate the HMD. Which is odd, cause this cable should work, i'm guessing this is more something going on with my end, i was able to get Audio and stuff sent to the HMD, but oculus itself simply never saw my headset. That was an odd Issue i don't see others saying.
I will try updating my systems and stuff, and see if it ever is seen by the software.
TLDR: PC Sees Audio and receives MIC input, but software doesn't work. Issue may be on my end, not the cable itself.
Update: Quest updated, and I checked my USB drivers and corrected it all. The headset now works through this and charges without out issue. I was certain the issue was not the cable.

This is a review for multiple items used as a cheap alternative to the official quest link cable. I started off by using Airlink and virtual desktop when I got my quest 2 to play PC VR games. Both software had their pros and cons but I did not like the noticeable lag I got with both even though I have a very good wifi connection. I have seen many reviews complaining that this setup does not work. I'm not sure if they are having a hard time connecting it but I did have trouble at first and this is what I did to fix it. If you have Airlink enabled you have to disable it if you want to connect via link. Next not all USB 3.0 slots will work you have to try every single USB 3.0 port on your motherboard and PC to see which slot works. I have no idea why this is the case for some people but try every USB port before giving up.

very long extension cable but it does have a coil. this could be easily removed if you stretch it out a bit but if you don't mind the coil then I guess its fine.

charge is not fast enough to charge headset while in play. i started playing with my charge at 98% and I played 1 chapter of Half Life Alyx (30-40 minutes), 1 hour of Into The Radius, and 30 minutes of The walking Dead saints and sinners. all these are the most intense games I own. after I was done playing I was at 84% charge. I'm sure there's something on the users end that can be done to prevent the headset from dying while in use and if I can find out how I will update this review.

other than that I highly recommend this if you are looking for a cheaper alternative to the quest 2 link cable.

I am using this cable with a video game controller (fighting stick) connected to a PS3. I first tried another highly-rated cable sold through Amazon and it did not work. But then I tried this cable with its boost circuitry and that did the trick. It functions. No lag. Mission accomplished. The only suggested improvement would be to make the housing around the amplifier/booster more durable. It's plastic and might crack if it drops on my wood floor too hard, which is something that could happen since it is now located in the middle of a very long run of cable between the controller and PS3. But all in all, this cable functions as I hoped, and that is most important.

Da ich nach ca. sechs Spielstunden keinerlei Abbrüche hatte, würde ich diese Kombination als stabil bezeichnen.

Nach ungefähr einem weiteren Monat läuft immer noch alles einwandfrei und ich sehe überhaupt keinen Grund, mir das orginale Kabel von Oculus zu kaufen. Zumal meine Kombination 1,8m länger und viel günstiger ist.

Anbei ein Komfort-Tip: Mit diesem Clip kann man das Kabel, welches direkt an der Quest angeschlossen ist, wunderbar komfortabel am Gürtel fixieren. Man spürt dadurch das Gewicht vom Kabel nicht und fühlt sich fast (wieder) kabellos.

I bought this to extend the cable on an Oculus Rift sensor with the vague sense of dread that comes with knowing it seems to be a bit of a lottery as to whether extension cables are compatible with them. I'd done some research beforehand and signs seemed to be positive so I gave it a go and to my relief it works just fine.

It's a thick but still reasonably flexible cable with certainly room for a decent level of shielding inside but I'm not going to hack it in half to check so I'm just going to have to go on performance which has been pretty flawless for what I've needed it to do with no drop-outs of connection and no weird tracking quirks which, to be honest, is enough to convince me this is more than good enough quality for any other kind of use I'd need a USB extension cable for as I generally found the Oculus delighted in dropping connection with the sensor with even the mildest excuse.

It also manages to be genuinely hideous to behold with a styling choice that resembles something from an early 90s mini hi-fi system so that's a plus.

Bought to extend the range of my Oculus Rift Sensor and works a treat! Cable is of good quality and is quite flexible. Using with the Rift Sensor, the Oculus Home software reports the Sensor as plugged into a USB 3 port and tracking is rock solid.

Cable came coiled up in a thick plastic re-sealable bag. When the cable is uncoiled, it lies quite straight without wanting to re-coil itself, so laying around the outside of room was pain free.

If you want to place Oculus Sensors farther from your PC (5m to be exact), this is the cable to get!

The webcam is USB 2.0 but I had originally intended to buy a USB 3.0 extension cable in the hope that I was future-proofing myself. However a lot (all?) powered USB 3.0 extension cables say they aren't compatible with USB 2.0, so I got this one instead. Watch out for this if you plan to mix and match the two standards.
