I was able to reduce the flow of both my bathroom and my kitchen sink!
I was looking for something like this for a while and when someone told me about this i got it without hesitation and in less than 10 minutes i was good to go.
My wife needed few days to get used to the new flow but now we save money and most importantly we save WATER
All you need to do is unscrew the old ones (if yours is as old as ours were, you'll probably need pliers and the elbow grease of a few different people). Then, put on a thin layer of plumbing tape so it doesn't leak, and screw it on. That's really all there is to it! For anyone trying to conserve water, these will make you happy!
I've been using three of these in my bathroom faucets for the past 12 months. At around 10 months, one of them started exhibiting a strange issue where, upon turning on the tap, the water pressure would be fine for a second, and then the flow would suddenly weaken to a trickle. This has been happening with that particular aerator for over two months (after 10 months of normal behavior), with no other water pressure-related issues happening anywhere else. Suspecting that this particular aerator was clogged or had gone bad, I removed it and separated its components and cleaned it, piece by piece. That didn't work. I then tried swapping it with one of the other faucets, and that didn't work either. (Weird thing is, when I returned both aerators to their respective original faucets, BOTH faucets started acting this way! So somehow, I made the issue worse. I left the third faucet alone because of this. #IfItAintBroke)
Unable to locate the other three 0.5 GPM aerators that came with this product, I went to the local store and bought a couple Neoperl 1.0 GPM aerators, and after putting them into both faucets, the issue immediately went away. (Today, I still don't know what the issue actually is; online searching, almost always helpful for minor home improvement stuff, failed me this time. Frustratingly, I was always directed to "unclog the aerator" or "unclog the water pipes", neither of which was the actual issue. Oh well. Some nights you just know are going to be wine nights, haha.)
Giving this product 3 stars, because I liked them while they lasted.
I purchased this pack of aerators alongside two (2) Niagara N2515CH shower heads as part of our endeavor to be more conscientious regarding our water usage, so I am excited to see how it impacts our water bill (I know, probably one of the very few people alive excited to see their water bill). We also placed one (1) quart size plastic carton filled with water inside each of our toilet reservoirs for water displacement, so that should also weigh-in.
All in all, if you are looking for a more water-usage friendly product, this pack of aerators will work nicely for your general use bathroom faucets. Be sure to also check out the Niagara N2515CH shower heads as alternatives for your showers. Plus, consider the easy lifehack of filling a water bottle or some such container to have placed in your toilet reservoir for water displacement.
