As others have reported, I also have not had this filament kink or do crazy things when unwinding into the printer. The same is not true for one of the other brands I tried. So far, this is the better of the filaments for under $20/kg that I've used that I've bought off of Amazon.
Some compare it to Hatchbox which haven’t had the best of results with - so I’d rate it better at a lower price. I use a premium aftermarket surface (Buildtak with their magnetic plate) and always print to a heated bed even though it’s PLA, so that might be why I don’t have adhesion issues but I’m very happy with it.
My only complaint is that I can’t get it as a subscription item on Amazon. I’d set it up with a subscription if the option was available. Hopefully amz3d will make that an option.
Spool size issues:
-The hole is too small for my Printrbot spool holding arm.
And
-The spool is too narrow for the table top adjustable spool stand. (the kind with the bearings to ride on with the two piece base that slides open and closed to fit every*1 spool type) *1- except this one
Luckily, I didn't have to rig up a stand. I happened to have a desiccant/dry spool box for this PolyCarbonate filament I never use. It fits in there and I just run the filament over the spool holding arm on the machine.
Thank goodness Hatchbox black is back in stock. -Joe
*UPDATE* - Ive been using a few other brands (Hatchbox and CC3D) in comparison and Im still socked at how well this filament was. This was my first filament purchase. It has done the best as far as consistent prints at a decent price. This AMZ3D has become my go too brand for reliable filament thats been the most consistent to work with. Highly recommend
Aside from that, my high resolution prints are great with this filament. Parts are strong, visually appealing, and are functioning well. Here's the kicker, some of my prints with this filament were printed with less than ideal circumstances (acceleration and jerk were a bit off, and my frame was wobbly because I used this filament to print a z-brace), and it still performed well.
I don't get to say this a lot, but this filament is fantastic. Just an excellent quality product where they aren't price gouging.
I've attached a 3D Printer Unboxing video that uses this filament near the end to print an Egyptian figurine. You can see that this filament is BRIGHT, and smooth giving you a great looking Prints that you will be proud to show off!
I have purchased dozens of different branded filaments over the last couple of years but currently, I'm sticking with this company for my basic colors because of quickness and quality!
