[WHOO, UPDATE TIME*] Looks great, but left audio channel is missing
I just got it this morning, tested it out with the OSSC, and, while it looks fantastic running off of it, the left audio channel is just a very faint hum of static; all I can hear out of it is the right channel, and that's just enough of a problem to bug me. This might be an issue with this specific unit. Dunno how widespread this issue is or if there's a fix for it (never had a SCART cable till today, so I'm new to this whole RGB thing).TL;DR: Looks really nice, audio is a bit ho-hum.*6-14-22 UPDATE (1/?): So, I've come to realize that, after some recent testing with some other cables I had lying around (AV, cheap HDMI adapters, or anything else I had in between), I've soon spotted the problem: My SEGA Saturn's left audio channel is just missing entirely! Will come out with the final verdict once I eventually fix my Saturn's sound issue, or get a new Saturn to test this with. Until then, see ya when I see ya.**6-21-22 UPDATE: (2/2): OKAY SO it's come down to this: I cleaned out my Saturn's AV port as best as I could have, I tested out the same cables and adapters I had lying around, alongside this SCART cable, and I've then come BACK to the first conclusion: the SCART cable's audio issue is still as present as ever, while the rest of the adapters and cables had both audio channels in tact. This must've been some defective unit for sure. And I can't exactly open this up to fix up which ever pin is acting up because the whole plastic bit to the SCART end of the cable is just all plastic with no functioning screw cap to hold it together, like some of the other SCART cables I've seen around. Saddening.

I got this as a temporary cable while I wait for an actual high quality one to come in. For those, you must either pay big or you wait a month to get it. Enter this cable:

Less than 15 bucks, arrives the next day (for me,) and works great. The price and availability are unbeatable. How does the cable perform? I haven't been able to to detect any noise on the video or the audio. If there's audio hum, I geneuinly haven't noticed it. These are cheap so I'm sure they're hit or miss and I doubt the wires are individually shielded. But the one I received murders the composite cable I was using. I would even say it surpasses perfect s-video quality. It's sharp colorful rgb video.

The cable feels and looks cheap, but it IS cheap. And you're definitely rolling the dice on the build quality here, but I can at least vouch that you'll potentially receive a solid cable that looks a million times better than composite.

I might come back later and compare it to a high quality scart cable to note the differences, but I would say go ahead and give this one a try if you want to save some time and money. Bottom line: the cable I got looks great.

Colors looked off. Continuity tested the red pin. Open.

Coming from the Hyperkin HDMI able to this and a scart to hdmi converter, the difference was far more profound than I was expecting. Colors were way better, and even with running through a converter for HDMI, I experienced less input lag than the console specific HDMI cable.

For the price, you'll be hard pressed to do better. As of yet, I've yet to notice if any games would have had the reversed stereo of some other lower-rated cables, so I'd call that a plus. Definitely harder to go the SCART route in the states, but the added complexity is then rewarded with a higher fidelity of picture quality for sure.

Hooked up my Saturn to my PVM and it worked perfectly!
Reviewed in the United States on September 10, 2020
I have used Scart previously with an upconverter and always found it to be sub-par. I'm unsure if that was the setup, or if that was the cable. Fast Foward to last week and I was able to find a Scart direct input TV on eBay. I'm using this Scart cable with this TV and WOW the image sharpness is unbelievable. It's easily the best I have ever seen Sega Saturn games look. It's sharp, colorful and detailed and this is even at 480i, which is just impressive. This Scart cable seems to be the real deal so I recommend this one.
