I purchased this when it was released, even though I already had her greatest hits cd and several albums. It has the newer song Infinity, which I bought separately before the cd came out. The sound quality on the MP3 download is very good, louder than some of the older recordings without being distorted. However, I can't give it 5 stars because she used the live Unplugged version of Someday instead of the single. I know she hates the song, but for fans, why not include the single version? Also, for fans of her earlier work, the 2 newer songs at the end aren't as good as the rest. But I do like Infinity.

I'd say this cd is best for collectors and fans who want to hear the remastering, or for new fans who don't have her greatest hits yet.

I'd like to hear her first four albums in remastered releases. Maybe with bonus tracks added. It would be so much better than more collections like this.

Download code already used and hard work to get support

Download code was incorrect, already used. Once I contacted Sony they gave me a 10 credit code, except that you need 12 credits to download this album! Really unprofessional of Sony? It wasn't bad enough that the Butterfly picture disc came with a sticker advertising the inclusion of a download code that was nowhere to be found!
PS: I gave up trying to obtain a mint copy of this seeing as they all arrive with damaged corners and busted spines. Thank you amazon....

Update: I decided to waste more time and wrote again to Sony about this and they added 10 more credits, so now I could download the album. I did. In the purchase page I was presented with one option only: download each of the 19 tracks individually. There was no single download for the album. I found this terribly unpractical, so much that I clicked on Vision Of Love to see if by any chance it was simply badly laid out and in fact I could download all tracks at one: nope. So I canceled the track download. An hour later I curiously went back and guess what? I apparently downloaded the whole album by simply trying to download ONE TRACK and now I cannot download this.
Sony Music, let me tell you, this is so bad that there are no words to say. I cannot believe that a major label failed so miserably at something so simple!

The 'old' Mariah Carey ...mostly on Vinyl

This vinyl is a joy to listen to. The pressing is very good, with no surface noise. Clear voice, and good balance of music. I like most of the songs in here. My least favorite is the songs on the second disc side which are taken from the album We Belong Together, which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. There are other that she can includes in here besides those songs. Her duet with Whitney "When You Believe", "Without You". And why no "Make it Happen"? I personally love the old Mariah Carey, not the hip-hop/R&B artist she chose to be. And this collection is mostly from her older stuffs, which is perfect. And i got it form Amazon when it was $20.

This is an ok album except one track which is Someday is a live version but auditioning the song on Amazon it is not a live version. But I am ok with that, no big issue. Also this CD contains bonus tracks.

This greatest hits album compilation pays tribute to the many phases of Mariah's career. It is also a celebration of her Las Vegas residency debut. I love all of the songs that are carefully selected and placed on this album. After all, they were all number ones. I really wish that "Infinity" did become a number one because it definitely deserves to be. It is a fantastic song. I enjoyed being transported down memory lane with every song and remembering where I was when I first heard it. I love you Mariah!

This is a great compilation album. It has all 18 of Mariah Carey's number one hits. I haven't listened to much music by Mariah Carey, so this album was a great way to get introduced to some of her discography. I also quite like the new single at the end of the album, "Infinity." It is an exciting track (possibly a diss-track towards her ex, Nick Cannon) and shows that Mariah, after all these years, can still sing incredibly.
