Hi! I'm Todd, and these are my books.

I started my writing journey a long time ago, but I really got into it when I began writing stories on the internet, including a story called Avatar: Spirit Of Earth. After getting confident, I went on to write my first comic book series, Guardians. After that, I wrote the miniseries Home, and the graphic novel 10,000 Miles. Since then I've written Sherlock Holmes novels, a science comic called Seekers of Science, and now an anime comic via Tokyo Blade Detectives!

For me, the best part of writing stories is just writing the stories. I love doing it, and I have many ideas for future stories, many of which I hope to put on Amazon as soon as they're out.

I'm grateful to all who have supported me on my adventures in writing, and I hope if you check out my books that'll you'll let me know what you think of them.

Indy author creates a graphic novel for kids

I've been a fan of Todd Black's comics for a couple of years now. Normally he releases one regular comic issue at a time. This time he's put together a 78 page graphic novel telling the story of 2 kids who have always done the impossible. The story reminded me of those old Encyclopedia Brown stories I read as kid, without the detective work. They built a large treehouse in the middle of the park and anything else people said was impossible. The tragedy comes when the both of them are about to be separated by life's ongoing changes. So they get to going on one last impossible task, digging their way to China.

Todd has a way in his storytelling that leads the reader in one direction and turns you around with a surprise that leaves you satisfied. Not quite an M. Night Shyamalan twist but just enough to be interesting. Together with Todd Black's wordsmithery (yes that is now a word) and Alex Garcia's artwork, the story becomes an independent author's Pixar production.

Great Story from Todd Black.

Telling of a tale of two brothers and the drive to always make the impossible possible. A simple story of always giving your all and go for your dreams. Chemistry is excellent between the two brothers. Speech bubbles is reminiscent of Deadpool. Has real life moments that roots it and makes the tale believable. Banter is on point. Though some may argue its a bit Deus Ex Machina, for an up and comer, its a aspect you can over look. Again, a tale to keep your dreams alive and just do you, even if it seems crazy to others. Live your life.

Personal Note: I see more of why he has a certain affinity for a particular "blade" from this novel.

I recommend it. Good for kids and adults alike.

10,000 Miles...it's a catchy title.

And if you ever imagined what it is like to do the "impossible", then this story will definitely help your imagination. 10,000 Miles is the story of two brothers checking off the last of their "impossible list", before continuing on their separate ways. The last of the list? Digging to China of course! But such a trip proves more than they bargained for.

10,000 Miles is well written and well illustrated. It's a great read and a good story for all ages. If you're looking for a good independent title to add to your comic/graphic novel collection....add this one!

This comic is great for a number of reasons. Todd Black's pacing and storytelling is great. At first I was worried that the story would lack because of it's size but frick was I wrong! It's an incredible story and if you're watching Disney, Pixar, or Dreamworks...this is your next film adaptation. The art is stunning and definitely unique. What is also great is that this is an all ages book which makes it very family friendly. Christmas gift? duh!

A Charming and Well-Crafted Adventure

It was special to see this graphic novel grow on Kickstarter and now here it is on Amazon! I don't think you could find a better adventure of a graphic novel out there. The writing feels original, the characters are a charm, and the artwork is wonderful. I'd recommend this to anyone who loves adventure or who has kids that dream big with their imaginations!

An all-ages story about two kids following their dreams and making the impossible happen, no matter the odds against them. It's a well crafted story, with a bit of a twist halfway in (thus deserving 5 stars, as I like a good twist). The art is very painterly, not the standard comic book look, and fits the story perfectly. It's a ripping yarn for the dreamer, young or just young at heart.

Such a great read.. one of the biggest myths of my childhood was about digging to China.. my dad wasn't happy with the 6 foot hole in our back years when I was 8 .. this story is like my childhood coming back for a moment.. beautiful writing and art work .. get it
