The hero does not seem to be as well-developed as she is. Additionally, he can be more than a little overbearing while at other times he seems a little too saintly to even be real.
On the other hand, I highly respect the way the author brought in the 'black lives matter' vs. 'blue lives matter' controversy into the book. Though at times she did seem to me to be skewed more towards a 'politically correct' position rather than what I would consider a more realistic outlook, she has my utmost admiration for the way she attempted to allow both sides to offer their viewpoints.
Finally, there are a few sensual scenes in the book, but hardly enough to really call it erotica.
Here is my detailed review:
Heroine: 4 stars
Hero: 3 stars
Plot: 4 stars
Writing style: 4 stars
Romance: 3 star
Suspense: 2 stars
Sensuality: 2 stars
Would I read another book by this author? Perhaps.
This was an easy read enjoyable story.
Their paths cross again when her snot nosed brother skips school with a friend. The attraction between the two was a phenom. However, heritage and family nearly keep them apart until a bullet brings them together.
Taken from the front pages of the newspaper is a story of struggle and love.
