I started doing this video about a year ago, as one of the stereotypical weekend warriors who had every intention of working out 4 times a week but would get sidetracked by shiny things on the floor. I figured whatever damage I could do in ten minutes would be a good start. I mean, that's ten minutes more than nothing right?
Ooooooooh my gawd.
The first time I did this video, I started with the arms/shoulders portion because my legs were, well, horrible and chubby and weak. I thought that some punches couldn't hurt me, because I'm tough or whatever. Within 3 minutes, I was pouring sweat. After five minutes, I turned it off, went and took a shower, and went back to playing video games with numb arms. I lost every game I attempted that night.
About a week later, I tried again. I had one of those "come to jesus" moments in front of the mirror and decided that if I couldn't do the full ten, well then that was just sad. So I turned the AC on full blast, threw a bottle of water in the freezer for afterwards, and powered through the arms routine. I thought I was going to die.
The next time (another week later) I did it again. It was easier but I was still drenched at the end. I upped it to twice a week. Then three times. Then I added another ten minutes. Wash rinse repeat until I was doing three workouts from this DVD with wrist and ankle weights on three times a week, and running (WHAT?! YES - RUNNING! WITHOUT ANYTHING LETHAL CHASING ME!!) two miles four times a week. I've lost 85 pounds in a year. I still have about 20 more I could lose, but yknow what? I'm pretty dang cute these days...
I'm not saying this video changed my life.
But it did.
I'm not saying the instructor isn't just a little bit intimidating.
But she is.
What I'm saying is that if you are ready to make a change and can't stand to watch workout dvd's with cute people in skimpy outfits that jump and shimmy around aimlessly to the worst music they could find, THIS is the DVD for you. Try it once. It's ten minutes. It won't kill you.
(Please note that I am not a doctor - only a medical student - so if you have some crazy fall or pre-existing condition that causes a ten minute workout to in fact kill you, that me saying that was meant as a figure of speech and not as medical advice)
Better yet, the workout teaches you some punches and kicks ( imagine hearing "jab, cross, hook, uppercut" in an Aussie accent) and made me feel more confident in myself leaving the gym in the wee hours of the morning when it's still dark and some creepy drunk guy staggered over to leer into the Windows of the gym. I felt totally ready to show him my jab, cross, hook, and uppercut if he messed with me on my way to the car. I love this workout dvd.
So I was a little worried that this would either 1) be way too hard or 2) be too easy. But this is perfect.
No one mentioned that Keli is Australian which is a fact I LOVE.
Other things I love:
-She does each workout with you.
-She says little things when you feel like you're about to die like "this one is hard! I feel it burn!" It is so nice to hear that even the instructor acknowledges that it is challenging for her. It makes me feel like I'm not alone in my suffering.
-There are no other women in cute little workout clothes backing her up. It's just you and the trainer.
-The ability to do 2 of the workouts in the morning and then the other 3 after work is fabulous.
-Each 10 minute workout is super fast paced and you switch exercises often so the 10 minutes flies by.
-It comes with her diet plan
- I no longer want to do my job. I want to wake up in the morning, do the whole dvd, make some breakfast, go for a light job, come back, find tasty healthy recipes online, do the work out again, and spend my day getting healthy.
- My boyfriend is tired of me telling him I need to go shopping for new clothes because mine are too big. :)
This DVD is rock star and I highly recommend it. Do the Basic training workout a few times for your first day just to get down the movements. The introduction to the kick boxing moves is fast and it took me a few times but now I have it down. Best $10 I have spent in a long time.
She is fantastic and clear cut! If you only have 10 minutes, pick one and go on with your day. 10 minutes though...right? You will be amazed at how much is packed into that time. I love it, because the DVD is formatted to have you either "play all" or, you can select which you want and what order you want. I have lost tons of weight using this and if you need to as well, but have little time, go for it!

The great thing about this DVD is that it's in 10 minute sections I started only doing section 1 and 3 for a long time then built it up slowly to the whole work out
I like it so much I've just bought it for my friend too
I decided to combine a 20 minute walk followed with one of the 10 minute workouts on this DVD, focusing on a different area each day, and doing this 4-5 times a week. The workouts can be tough (especially the fat-burning blast which I STILL haven't managed to finish all the way through) but as they're only 10 minutes long you tend to just keep going. At first I didn't think anything was happening... However I was proven wrong when my boyfriend came home from working away for 2 weeks, gave me a hug and immediatley said 'Wow you got firm!'
Stick to it and it does work. The workouts can be a bit repetitive if you're doing the same ones every day, but mix it up a bit and it's fine. Combine these workouts with a healthy diet and you will notice results just stick with it! Like I said as one work out is only 10 minutes it's a lot easier to get motivated to do it because before you know it you're finished! Give it a go you won't be disappointed.
