This book is fantastic:

It's well written, clear explanations, step-by-step instructions, and include detailed diagrams.

Finally a modern book (2004)include the solitaire of PC windows freecell, solitaire (klondike).

Another this best book include classic solitaire and rare variations/spin-off, as a bonus include solitaire games for two player. The chapter are: the most popular solitaire games, strategy games, travel solitaire, fun games, strategy g. 2 pack, solitaire for two. All book is well illustrated.

All you need is a economical deck of cards!!! If you can buy the deck called "patience" or mini size are small for solitaire.

This book is well laid out and I must add I bought it specifically for the chapter about Travel solitaire. Games in that section were designed to be played with Minimum time and space in mind. Personally, I know already how to play with a deck of cards, about 5-7 solitaire games. Hit or miss, Clock, Golf, Klondike, Poker Solitaire, Pyramid, Ultimate Hit or miss, and Spiderette. Have them all memorized, and they are all found in this book as well. Of the many Solitaire books I had bought on the subject, This one actually has a decent layout, Specific categorization of Solitaire games, Estimations of time to completion, and Best of all, the required strategies for playing, All listed on each and Every Game listed in the book, and Even has a Section for solitaire for two, whenever you are not alone!
Most of the Games, have pictures showing Card layout, and Provides quick reference Glossary on Card related words such as "Foundation" and "Waste". The book does an excellent job to help teach you without you second guessing your next move, something alot of Books on the subject have neglected in my opinion.

Further note, This book is quite the entertainer In both teaching you Card games for one, and providing a little summary for each game before providing the Layout, rules, Strategy tips, Estimation of completion, and Illustration for reference. It is a Very well written book and should have been on the market back when I was still new to solitaire.
And for those who whine because this book is not an electronic, Remember, The cheapest games available Are a deck of Cards.
Take my advice though, It is worth every penny at this price, and that's coming from a Top Reviewer Ranking in at 17,684 (To Date) with 184 helpful votes and over 90+ Reviews.
Experience is what I do not lack, and I try to help my fellow customers.
Good luck yall!

Learning new ways to play Solitaire was a boon with this book. My only criticism is that I wish there were more illustrations. Some of the games didn't have illustrations to guide you, which made them difficult to try out. But the book is very handy and helpful.

I purchased this book for my wife who is an absolute card nut. I don't care for card games so she has to play by herself most of the time. She likes this book very much, and always has it in her hands trying to learn a new game. I honestly have never seen any one who can play so many different single player card games. But, what ever makes her happy is alright with me.

The book is so old it does'nt include several of the games on my favorite solitaire site - great day games. It's very good for the ones it does have, and I hav'nt had time to look at all of them, in case great days games are there under different names.
