I have always been a natural living person and make most of the things I use - cleaning supplies, candles, skin creams, and have been doing this for years. In a lot of the things, beeswax is an ingredient, and I have become quite the beeswax 'connoisseur.' High quality beeswax makes a huge difference and can be, surprisingly, tough to find. I have found however that the quality varies GREATLY from seller to seller on this listing.

I had been ordering my beeswax from Fast Shipping Supplements and their quality is fantastic. Another reviewer had mentioned that their beeswax smells just like honey, and they are exactly right. The beeswax from Fast Shipping Supplements is very clean, has a beautiful color and creates a wonderful smell that fills the whole room when made into candles. It comes in a convenient size and shape - it's easy to melt a whole bar quickly, and/or it's very easy to grate, and the smell is wonderful. I make a lot of beeswax candles and you don't need to scent them with this beeswax - it gives off a wonderful, subtle honey scent. I purchased from both Larkin and Natural Cosmetics, because they were cheaper, (mistake on my part) and was extremely disappointed with the quality of beeswax from both vendors. I think they may get them from the same source because they both smelled like smoke and both of them had specks of dirt in them. So be very careful which vendor you purchase from. In the future I will only be purchasing from Fast Shipping Supplements

In addition to the candles I make, this beeswax makes the absolute best furniture polish you will ever find - it's really healthy for your wood, smells wonderful, and shines up your wood finish beautifully.

Quality Value Depot is definitely an amazing seller! This is my 2nd time purchasing this product. Once from my dad's account and now from my account. This smells amazing and it's cool how it doesn't come in a huge block so it's much more convenient than the 1 lb ones.

If you're looking for natural lip balm, here is a great recipe for a small container:
8 tsp sweet almond oil
2 tsp beeswax
1 tsp honey

The sweet almond oil, as well as the beeswax, will soften your lips and keep them moisturized and the honey will make it smell sweet and will also help preserve the balm. Honey is too thick for bacteria to grow in so it is a great natural preservative.

If you're looking to make lip stick with this, here is another great recipe by percentage of weight (not organic):

Beeswax: 13%
Shea Butter 5%
Castor oil 43%
Jojoba oil 21%
Vitamin E Oil 3%
Fractionated Coconut: 8%
Carnauba Wax: 7%

For the color, add iron oxides for the base color and mica pigments for some glitter and shine. If you want a matte color, using only iron oxides. Add some titanium to lighten the color or black iron oxides to darken the color. Hope I helped. :)

I'm sort of new to using beeswax and making my own stuff. Thanks to youtube & Amazon, I got an amazing amount of information. For example, if you look at some of the different beeswax products on here, there are some that are pellets, some that are 1 pound chunks, and just about everything in between. Some of them were rated highly, and some very poorly. Some said that it depended on which seller. I read several reviews describing bad odor, petroleum odor and tobacco odor, as well as bad color, no color or bad taste.

I can state unequivocally that this product is AS ADVERTISED. I got 6 bars, weighing 5.9 ounces (advertised is 5 bars at 5 ounces) - so I actually got MORE than I paid for. The color is consistent and uniform and the smell, which was a bit faint and certainly not overpowering, was slightly sweet and very pleasant. I have used this wax for a lot of things and made several concoctions with it. All have turned out pretty well, I am sure due to all the great info and videos available as well as this being an excellent product. Probably also combined with a healthy bit of beginners luck. Anyhow, for everything from homemade lotion & mosquito repellent, to soap and chapstick to candles to home made leather conditioner for everything from boots and bowling shoes to belts, dog leashes, a knife sheath, a guitar strap, etc. this product is really good and provides great protection from the elements.

Highly recommended & thanks.

These 3-inch bars of bee's wax are fantastic! They melt crystal-clear, smell naturally great, and are perfect for protecting wooden cutting boards from warping, staining, and food contamination. However, after trying a couple of different unsuccessful ways of waxing my wood cutting board, I finally discovered a great way to do it. What DIDN'T work so well, was using a bowl of melted wax (melted in the microwave) and a folded-up paper towel to rub the wax onto the board. The problem was that the hot wax turned hard the very INSTANT it touched the board. Then, I tried an 1850-watt hair dryer method to very slowly melt the wax onto the board. But this took over 1-hour and even overheated my hair dryer. However, the below 4-step method worked extremely well. It not only put a nice, heavy-duty layer of wax on the board, but it filled & sealed every tiny micro-crack of the wood with wax, protecting it from food contamination. This 4-step process 'sounds' more complicated than it actually is. And after you do it once, you'll see how simple it really is. ;)

Before you do this however, I highly recommend applying a nice thick coat of Food-Grade mineral oil to your board and letting it soak-in for 24 hours, then thoroughly wipe off the excess oil before you apply the wax. The mineral oil will moisturize the wood to keep it from warping, and the wax will seal-in the moisture. (If your wondering about what "Food-Grade" mineral oil is, read the "Comments" section of this review).

HOW TO APPLY WAX TO A CUTTING BOARD

1. Tightly press a sheet of heavy-duty aluminium foil (or 2 sheets of regular foil) into a wide frying pan, and melt 2 bars of this bee's wax (2 bars will be enough for MANY future treatments). Be mindful to melt it very slowly on very low-heat.
