Not sure if it's just the one I received but unlike the original ASUS adapter, the charger doesn't seem up to the task of both charging and powering the netbook at the same time.

Make no mistake, it definitely does charge the battery, just it appears that it will only do so while the machine is either powered down or in standby mode.

I've ordered two of these, about a year apart, for my EeePC 1000ha. The first was an extra to the OEM, and works flawlessly. Right size, right power, just wish it had an L-shaped connector.

When my OEM charger died, I ordered another of these. The box is a little bigger and the plug is about 1/8" too long, so it sticks out, and feels a little looser. Still works fine, just definitely not the exact same parts.

Build quality didn't appear strong and indeed it wasn't. The cable charged at a decent rate but the build quality didn't allow it to last more than a little over 4 months while being used on a near daily basis.

The charger broke today, just 3 months after I bought it. Not much else to say, I think that says a lot about the reliability of this product. I used it with my asus 1000 HE

The charger only works while the laptop is on, and is otherwise only poorly compatible with the laptop's power supply. If i had known i would have just ordered an official ASUS adapter.

I ordered this item, based on the picture provided: it shows that the prong that connects to the computer has a 90 degree angle but the one I received has a straight prong connection (no angle), which makes the wire uncomfortable because it sticks out too much and I am sure is going to break too soon.
The cable is about 2 feet too short

I purchased one of these adapters for my Asus 1000HE netbook around April 15th. Worked great for exactly a month and on May 15th it got super hot and stopped working. Amazon credited me for it and I purchased another one hoping it was just a fluke. Well, after owning this unit for 20 days or so it is now getting hot and shutting off as well. This one hasn't stopped working completely YET, but I'm returning it before it does. For anyone that depends on a charged and functioning laptop, I would not recommend this adapter. Obviously there is a flaw in the batch that Amazon has on hand. There are many other different cheap brands. Try one of them instead.

Got it, it worked for about two weeks then nothing. I thought the netbook was dead (since it couldn't be the BRAND NEW power cable, could it?) and took it into the shop ($70 just to look at it!) and they said the cable was not putting out any power. What an utter waste of time and money. CRAP.
