This story goes from sweet college crush with a student-teacher romance to paranormal with a touch of suspense to one of the most intensely erotic scenes I’ve ever read. My star rating kept climbing from page one to the end, this is a definite 5-star story that had me on edge most of the way through.
Daring Her Love by Melissa Foster
The first two-thirds of this story reads as a sizzling instant-connection tale where the two leads have such intense chemistry from the moment they meet that you know it’s just a matter of time before it will become permanent. There’s some fears to overcome and some personal expectations to be reevaluated, but this is one of those destined-to-be stories. But don’t grumble about insta-love or anything like that-the characters are written so that regardless of the immediacy of their attraction, you can’t imagine any other outcome besides them being together.
The last third? Eh, it’s a nod to all the other lovey-dovey couples and a lot of “how do you feel” from Eric to Kat that just wasn’t doing it for me. Up until that point this was 5 stars…but the last third of the story kind of put me off a bit and knocked it back down to 4 stars.
Teased by Rebecca Zanetti
Gotta be honest with this one. Everything was just too fast, and I did not feel the chemistry between Olivia and Chalton. The role Chalton’s mother played with him and his brothers felt contrived and did not ring true for me at all. If I put a star rating on this, it might be a 2. I know there’s plenty of readers out there who will disagree with me, and maybe if I’d read this author’s other books I might have a different opinion, but Teased just did not do anything for me.
The Promise of Surrender by Liliana Hart
Not really a fan of this story. While I loved how kick-ass Mia is as a female lead, and Zeke is hot as hell…the wording in the sex scenes is not what I like to read in regards to certain terms that were used—which totally takes me out of those scenes. There was also no solid wrap up to the storyline regarding the bikers—it was left open-ended. 2.5 on this one.
Jumpstart by Riley Hart
I love these guys. I’m a big fan of second chance romance, and this story was ringing all of my bells. The just-right amount of emotion, the heat between Beck and Christian, and them finding a way to work things out…all of it comes together perfectly so that by the end I couldn’t keep the smile off my face. My only regret is that the length of this story-I wanted so much more of these two men. 4.5 stars!
5 amazing stars
The 1001 Dark Nights series have always been some of my favorite series, and the bundles such an amazing treat since it reunites six different authors in one single anthology. I've had the chance to read all of these authors in the past in previous Dark Nights tomes and to be able to read another story written by them once again reminded me why I loved their abilities to create a story that completely enthralls me and keeps me captivated from start to finish. Encompassing some contemporary, paranormal, police officer and bad boy romances, this eighth bundle did not disappoint at all.
4 breath taking dreams
Each author has their own styles that, surprisingly, meshed incredibly well - the stories were sexy, hot, dramatic, poignant and full of action. The characters were believable (even the paranormal story) and their journey to where they try to find their own happily ever after. I absolutely love this series - there's never any guessing as to what is going to come next since it's always a surprise. I always look forward to the next release and want to find out what else these authors could come up with.

In Bundle 8, each story provides its characters with a second chance in life or in love, allowing them to figure out what’s most important in their lives and forcing them to take action in order to acquire what they’ve always wanted but never felt worthy or ready to make theirs.
In Christopher Rice’s Kiss The Flame, Laney Foley works to make her dreams come true as a college student but also finds herself wanting more than just a higher education when she meets Michael Brouchard - a man who not only teaches her about Art History but also teaches her about her sexual wants and desires, allowing her to explore exactly the type of woman Laney is and what she can experience with the right instructor.
In Daring Her Love by Melissa Foster, Kat Martin works to find her Mr. Right, but along the way, she finds herself falling for a man who has never wanted anything more from a woman than her body, leading Kat to misjudge exactly who Eric James is but also realizing why being her true self just might give her exactly what she wants and needs.
Rebecca Zanetti’s Teased is the only paranormal story in the bundle, and in its world of vampires, it all comes down to keeping their existence a secret at any costs, which is exactly Chalton Reese’s assignment as well as a few others who need to silence Olivia Roberts and her source, but what Chalton never expected was finding the one woman who just might be his perfect match, as long as they can stay alive and work together to keep the truth from being exposed.
The Promise of Surrender by Liliana Hart focuses on Mia Russo and Zeke McBride, two lovers who come face to face after 7 years apart and attempt to work things out while ensuring Mia’s safety when her easy life in Surrender, Montana, heats up in both pleasurable and dangerous ways.
Jennifer Lyon’s Savaged Surrender is a best friends to lovers’ story that also explores the idea of self-worth and being good enough to be with the only person that makes you feel capable and worth the risk. Ethan Hunt is ashamed of his past and the person it created and due to his feelings of inadequacy, he’s unwilling to give Ana his heart, breaking hers in the process. Eleven months later, Ethan and Ana reconnect, and while all he can offer her is a week of fun, their time together makes Ethan realize what and who truly matters, forcing him to either surrender to his feelings or let Ana go for good.
Jumpstart by Riley Hart is about childhood best friends, Beckett Monroe and Christian Foster, reconnecting after ten years of no contact and a slew of hurt feelings. Beckett’s used to being in the spotlight for his wins in motocross, but when the headlines explore his sexual preferences, he reaches out to the one person who can stand in his corner and help him through this transition, but it’s also the person whose heart Beckett broke all those years ago and then cut him out of his life. Beckett and Christian’s story focuses on accepting who they truly are and realizing that young love can turn into so much more as long as the couple is willing to take the risk and stand up for themselves and the ones they love.
Second Chance Romances are some of my favorite stories because they illustrate what people are willing to do to set things right and be with the people who make them whole, regardless of past mistakes and heartbreaks and the collection of stories in this bundle do a great job of allowing its characters to recognize what’s most important and set about making the most out of the opportunity they’ve been given to have everything they’ve ever wanted with the one person who knows them inside and out.
