Top customer reviews
The device is easy to use and really speeds up the loading process. You are not supposed to load the first cartridge into the magazine with the loader as it may scratch the follower. Several reviews here state to load the first cartridge or even show it in a video using the magazine loader on the first cartridge and that is not the proper way to use this product. You are supposed to load the first cartridge into the magazine by hand and that is usually not a problem as the first cartridge is easy to load. This loader not only works with multiple types of calibers but it also loads magazines that are double stack, single stack and 1 ½ stack like those on my S&W Shield 40 cal.
I like this tool a lot and my thumb likes it even more. The last time I loaded a bunch a magazines my thumb was numb for several days. This product is relatively expensive but it is also worth every penny you pay for it. I give this product two thumbs up!
The Maglula UpLULA is a very nice tool. I have a 10mm double stack 2011, and I have no qualms saying that hand loading the mags is a pain in the rumpus! I am surprised the price varies according to the color but I frankly don't give a rat's a$$ what color it is, so I bought the least expensive one and it happens to be lemon yellow. Whatever, at least I can easily spot it when I lay it down. My advice is to buy the adapter if you have a single stack, don't use it for other than its intended purpose, and quit whining about it being too expensive. When you pay big $$$ for the guns, ammo, maintenance, etc., a lousy $30 is a pretty good investment to save the skin of your fingers.
Believe me, when you're outside in 10-degree weather, and your fingers are cramping up, you'll have cause to rejoice you invested in this nifty apparatus. Operation is simple, but takes a little getting used to. With practice, you can load a tremendous number of cartridges effortlessly. For competition shooters, buying this is not a suggestion, but a sanity saver. Five stars, and shame on me for not getting one sooner.
(Interesting story--at least to me: I bought one for myself, and my brother-in-law bought one for me a month later not knowing I already had one. I'm keeping them both!)
