I only review books when I'm either really happy or really unhappy with a book, and I'm pretty unhappy with this '101 best kindle fire apps' book. You are paying 3 bucks for a list of the top 100 apps in the kindle app store, nothing more. I don't believe in returning books that I've bought on principle and 3 bucks won't break me, but come on, seriously? Charging 3 bucks for this? There's no added value, despite the lofty ideals that the author claims in the description and in the introduction to the book. Save your money, please, and just look at the top 100 list in the app store to get what you get in this book.

If the price of this book was 99 cents it would be a completely different story, but 2.99 is highway robbery.

Originally when I first bought my Kindle Fire I used it to read books(obviousy), check my email and browse a couple forums. Until I bought this guide I wasn't aware of the different apps available, and how much additional use I now get from my Kindle Fire. I have installed most of the productivity and finance apps recommend and have been happy with them.

I did like some of his thoughts to actually saying nay or yay to the last standing apps for the book. I believe he spanned the topics well, that affect most users having a Kindle Fire and its generations. I think there is more to the criteria to explain, why he selected the apps he did without explanation of how he got to that point. I think the reviews of apps and then saying "here it is, my choice" isn't enough for me. One app might be effective for a choice, but cost, qualtiy, and easy of use are important considerations. He used the ratings like they were a high end importantance to selection. I found that some of the reviewers were vague and sometimes not knowledgeable on some topics. They failed to explain much on their discrediting or praise of an app. I count on the reviews too when making choices, but then test the app out to see. I would eventually find something, that wasn't mentioned when upon discovery when using it. I hoped he did more research on the apps, then just taking their word for it. His introduction in his book could have explained a better job of his total focus in narrowing down the apps. Then the user could have decided, if his criteria matched his words when he showed that in his notes. The developer's description of the app and details including their home site are a good clue to learning more about the app. That would also include more information to help in knowing the scope of the app's system and design. In time he could have updated his book by relating updated features of the app, and if it still fullfilled his selection for being the best. I thought the price was fair, and I will use this book as a reference, hoping he will update his scope of making a better Best 101 Kindle Fire App book in the future. The one I have now is not the case. The battery section and some of his app choices put it to almost three and a half. I have to rate it to the lower side due to some of his miss-firings.

A cheap way to get a breif review of Kindle apps. I keep it as a reference when I want to look up something. These summaries are very brief but I suppose you could look up individual apps to get more information.

When I saw three 1-star reviews in a row, I almost didn't buy this book. (Though, three 1-star reviews within a week, when the book had zero before that, did seem a bit fishy). I decided to take a chance on the book, figuring I could get a refund if I didn't find any apps I hadn't heard of, or that weren't interesting.

I liked the book and I found a lot of apps that I hadn't known about before. The Coupons App was awesome, as I recently got into couponing, and I had no clue about it. My kids love playing with the Little Piano app I downloaded as a recommendation from the book. Plus, the battery saving tips are helpful, especially when you have kids who want to use your Fire all of the time.

Overall I am quite pleased. While each person may or may not think it's worth $3 for this book, the reviews that say there are affiliate links in the book, or that it's just the Top 100 list, are flat out false. Take it from someone who almost didn't buy the book because of what those reviewers said. I am very glad I went out on a limb and bought this book.

I decided to pick this up for a buck after looking at the sample pages. I like being able to skim the apps which are given short one or two paragraph descriptions each. If I want to know more, I check out my Dummies book! Hey, not everybody was born with a tablet in their hand! The very first thing I used from this book was the battery extender it suggested. What a huge difference that has made! I also installed a great app to track my Kindle if it's ever lost or stolen. There are other useful and fun apps that I've installed and am glad I did. I think others will find this book very helpful and informative as well.

Didn't take long to read through this book, but gave quite a bit of information on apps I wasn't aware of since I'm new to the Kindle Fire. Can't wait to use some of these apps! Thank you for taking the time to write this.
