In "101 Juicing Recipes," which actually includes 108 recipes, the author discusses the benefits of juicing for good health and for weight loss. It's important to use fresh fruits and vegetables in juicing, and to consume juices immediately or soon after juicing in order to benefit from all the vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and phytochemicals in the fresh juice. Fresh juice is greatly preferred over canned and bottled juices because of the additives, including refined sugars, in commercial juices; and the fact that these juices are usually pasteurized, which destroys enzymes and degrades other nutrients.

The book then lists and discusses the best fruits and vegetables for juicing, and their specific benefits. The author recommends using organic additives, such as psyllium and flax seed oil, to add extra nutritional benefits to your juices. Juicing for weight loss has a chapter in the book, and another chapter on cleansing and detoxifying the body is included.

After the introductory material, the 108 recipes follow. The juice recipes make ample use of green leafy vegetables such as parsley, spinach, and kale. For some recipes that aren't very sweet, stevia, a natural low-carbohydrate sweetener, is used. Most ingredients are readily available in local markets, although a few, like dandelions and nettles, may be a challenge to find. (But you're welcome to come pick them in my neighbor's front yard.)

Overall, it's a fairly comprehensive overview of juicing and the health benefits of consuming fresh fruit and vegetable juices. The book is definitely worth a look for anyone interested in trying a juicing regimen.

This is a very handy book to have it when you're busy with your healthy style. From the beginning to the end. It explains with all the details the nutrition aspects, the benefits of vegetables, fruits, herbs etc ...
It also covers about increasing energy, digestion questions, raw food, which supplements we have to take and stuff like that.
It's not only about weight loss but how to live a healthy life.
I'm a raw foodist, therefore, this book is very handy for me.
It has interesting facts and delicious recipes, very easy to prepare and very well explained.
I'm very glad I bought this book. It deserves 5 stars for sure!

I've downloaded a lot of juicing books that were pretty good but not nearly as thorough detailed or versatile as this juicing recipe book. From the super healthy like the Purple Power to the tasty like the Banana PB and Tutti Frutti this book really has something for everyone...Great for people new to juicing and those looking for clever new juicing recipes too!

101 Juicing Recipes By John Miller is an EXCELLENT guide that introduces you kindly into the hugely beneficial world of juicing. The author does a great job educating on the benefits of juicing along with the best fruits and veggies and their nutritional information. Very impressive!
The recipes themselves are straight forward and clearly labelled to a specific health benefit. This book deserves your attention. I recommend you read it and let the author know your thoughts! BRAVO!

An Important Tool to Help Meet Your Nutritional New Year's Resolutions

John Miller's book, 101 Juicing Recipes: The Complete Nutrition Rich Green Vegetables and Fruits Juice Recipes for Weight Loss and Healthy Living, provides the nutritional and scientific foundation for the importance of juicing in our lives.

As the title lists, the book is packed with delicious recipes. One of my personal favorites is "Call of the Wild in Every Glass," the edible plants solution to time-crunched families on the go. The recipe offers both a basic version and an exotic version, with ingredients that don't normally meet in a blender. The finished product is yummy!

If you're working on your health, natural beauty, and/or weight as a New Year's resolution, Mr. Miller's book is a lifesaver. Two full chapters are dedicated to the top fruits and vegetables, with the health benefits of each listed in detail. Scientific classifications also help round out the information-packed book.

John Miller continues his series on fitness with a delightful series of that almost perfect food - juices! In this well designed and very informative book, Miller describes the importance of juicing as well how to make this healthy way of eating simple to apply. He delves right in to the benefits of juices: (vitamins, minerals, chlorophyll, phytochemicals and sterols) nutritional regeneration, weight control, detoxification, building the immune system, increasing mental acuity, achieving and maintaining healthy skin and hair, etc. He makes his mark for fresh fruits and vegetables instead of canned or `store-bought', and lists the top 25 fruits and their health benefits (eg, avocado, apple, cherry, blueberry, cranberry, cantaloupe, etc - listing the nutritional units per cup), and then lists the best vegetable in much the same way. There is included in this book the additives that can make juice even healthier - psyllum, flax seed oil, liquid herbal extracts, Omega-3s, Spirinella, and probitiocs.

Then Miller offers recipes and the manner in which each is made for 101 juices - adding at the back of the book seven additional new ideas. The book is filled with colorful photographs that encourage the eye to keep juicing. Follow his ideas and discover the benefits of juicing: Weight loss and Fasting, Cleanse and Detox, Immune Boosting, Wrinkle Reducing, Colon Cleanse, Prevent & Fight for Cancer, Diabetes, Increases your Kidney Function, Muscles Soothing and calming, Memory Boosting, and Mental Acuity.
