This book can be divided into three sections-- "Activities you need prior knowhow and tools to accomplish," (Like I really have a hacksaw and the ability to cut glass to certain measurements in order to know how to frame a picture myself) "Activities that have been over thought until the directions read like an engineering textbook" (Do we really need three pages on how to mop a floor?) and "Activities that are so simple I can't believe you have to give people directions on how to do them" (Really? People don't know how to stand up from a sitting position?). There were a very few helpful examples, such as how to set a formal table and how to drive in snow. And never trust a book that endlessly confuses the words "break" and "brake."

I received this book as a present and immediately after getting it I thought why!! Receiving this book as a gift was depressing simply because its I a book they wrote about all the things you "should" know to do ( mop, tie a tie, shovel snow, etc) but you don't :/ After a while I chose to read it as a bed side book but it wasn't very entertaining the.directions aren't too detailed. Overall I give this book 3 stars since it was boring but something

I purchased two of these as High School Graduation gifts. They will teach you how to survive without Mom there to coach and the great thing is it doesn't nag.

I saw this book at my little sister's home and I had to have it! It makes a great coffee table book and can actually be useful from time-to-time.
