They hold in the heat really well and help cut down on pellet consumption.
I returned it no problem. Some more words for review.
Using this on my standard propane grill to cook steaks in the winter (30-40 degrees F) this blanket performed exceptionally well. The first time doing this, I let the blanket cover the handle too. The blanket worked so well that the handle was scolding hot. The handle has never been scolding hot before. From then on, I tucked the blanket into and under the grab handle so that it remains cool, yet the cooking surface stays very hot.
I needed to solder some copper pipe underneath my kitchen sink (I wanted to add a ball shut off valve). I laid the blanket carefully in place beneath the sink. As soon as the flame started, after about 5 seconds, I noticed that the welding blanket was turning red. So I turned the flame off and removed the blanket to check it. To my surprise, there was a 4 inch hole in the blanket where the flame had made contact, after only about 5 seconds !
Please don't waste your money on this product. It does not work.

Great blanket. I use it as a backdrop for my grinding area and as a heat shield for my forge. Good piece of mind as a precaution to keep me from burning down my workshop.Published 4 days ago by Adam R.
This isn't really a welding blanket, at least not by my definition. It's a medium weight fiberglass blanket that can be used near a welder but it won't protect much of anything. Read morePublished 8 days ago by RatVega
I purchased this as a gift but understand it worked great. They used it to cover the railing on the deck because the grill was too close to it. Recommend it!Published 13 days ago by Martha Niekrash
So far so good! I did receive it with two areas that were, what I consider, damaged. The threading had been pulled out and though its not a big deal - this is for welding - it... Read morePublished 16 days ago by StrattAg21
I have a radiator in my apartment bedroom that bangs and clanks continually. It remains hot all the time, as it has no on/off dial. Read morePublished 1 month ago by Charlotte K. Howard
