I am addicted to Tower Defense games. I will admit I was skeptical about a reverse Tower Defense game. But it is Tower Defense! So I tried it. It's a lot of fun. I find it takes a little more attention than the traditional form of the game - I often get those to the point I can just sit back and watch wave-after-wave - but it's still a fairly fun game.

If you like Tower Defense games - I definitely recommend this if you can get it on sale or as a daily Free-App. You will have fun approaching the genre from the opposite direction.

Great game, needs compatibility fixes

Doesn't work on my Acer Iconia Tab A100 (it installs and starts, but is unplayable), won't install on my Droid X :(. Works great on the wife's Kindle Fire, which does me no good. Fix compatibility issues and it gets 5 stars.

EDIT: I did get it to work on the Iconia Tab A100, but it has some bugs (subtitles don't work, other minor stuff). That bumps it up to 3 stars. Still needs fixes, it could be a 5 star game.

Reverse Tower Defense??? Yes Please!!

"Anomaly Warzone Earth" is the type of game that when you read about it you think that there's no way it's going to be fun...no way it's going to even really work.

But once you play the first couple of missions, all of your doubts are erased and you're enjoying a great genre from a completely different perspective.

"Anomaly" takes the tower defense formula and completely reverses it. Instead of placing towers and other defense elements to eliminate an enemy from creeping into an area, you are instead creating units and choosing directions to help your units creep into an area around the AI's towers. Basically, instead of defending with towers, you're attacking with the moving units.

What helps the game succeed so well are all of the amazing qualities of it. The presentation is top notch, the sounds are on point, and the graphics are great. But what really steals the show here are the controls. They just work so well, and your abilities to change strategies on the fly are awesome. Need to add some new units?? Just bring up the "Buy" screen and buy what you need, and they get drop shipped in directly behind your current convoy. Need to upgrade one of your crawlers so it's got more firepower?? Hit "Buy" again and do what you've got to do. Realize at the last second that you probably made a poor choice in your direction planning?? Hit the "Plot Course" button and change your course on the fly.

The controls work flawlessly and make the game a pleasure to play. The graphics, audio, and story that go with the controls are just icing on a delicious cake.

Highly recommended.

Great Game With Problems on Kindle Fire

This game is excellent. One of the best ios titles, and a very good PC game. However, my Kindle Fire gets locks up constantly while playing this. I haven't been able to get past the preparatory stage of the fifth mission because I have too keep rebooting my fire. The game gets 3 stars because its fun when it works, but this version has major bugs. If the bugs gets fixed, it'll be an easy 5 stars.

As other reviews have stated, make sure you turn on subtitles!

That aside, this is a fun little "anti"-tower defense game. You control the minions and have to destroy and/or get past the towers. You can set your route and customize your troops, which gives this a good layer of complexity for a mobile game. On my EVO 4G, it played smoothly (though it chomped through my battery) with no issues or hangups.

There are no in-app purchases, nor do you need an internet connection to play, both of which are fabulous!

Worth the price - great pickup.

Let me say this is for my amazon kindle fire..First time i saw a trailer for this game I was blown away, the graphics were amazing and the colors just "POP" out so vibrantly.I wasn't so sure on pulling the trigger on this purchase being that it was somewhat expensive for an android game, i came back periodically until the promised day came.The price came down to 1.99 i clicked it/downloaded it and installed it within seconds.At first it starts off slow and after that it picks up rapidly, first you have a rescue a fellow comrade then your harvesting resources from the aliens and before you know it your running your own squadron, with tanks and cannons and what have you. I really enjoy the controls of the game, you can change the route your squad takes and your responsible with healing your team and providing distractions along with protection. Your team will be doing work, destroying your enemies.
After reading the 6 stage my game started acting funny, after the first 10 seconds of the stage the game would just freeze or the screen would go black. I will consider re-installing the app and running the app again.But without that minor glitch this is a pretty solid app game for any tablet!

I installed this on my transformer prime running ICS and have experienced really annoying problems where I can't see any text. The graphics look amazing, but it's hard, if not impossible, to play all the way through without the text. Additionally, after a certain number of textless prompts, I have the game lock up or crash. I wish the developers would look into this, especially since other people seem to be having similar problems.

Bought this from the kindle store so was surprised to discover that it doesn't work on my kindle - none of the text displays at all, so instructions, menus etc are all blank, meaning I haven't even a clue where to start.
I'm sure I'd rate it a lot higher than this if it worked.

Edit: Checking amazon.com, there are lots of other people reporting the same issue with the kindle fire hd 8.9" and yet amazon is still showing the tick box to say it's explicitly compatible with my kindle.
