The Omen Black is built on 30 Ton Toray blanks equipped with Poly Vector Graphite (PVG) Technology. PVG allows for the strategic interlacing of graphite to precisely control the fiber angle alignment during the blank rolling process. PVG's tighter graphite composition increases sensitivity and hoop strength by preventing energy loss due to vocalization under extreme pressure. Crafted with hand selected 3A Portuguese cork and an Evolve Engage reel seat that permits direct contact with the blank, the Omen Black offers unmatched sensitivity and balance. Equipped with ALPS guides with Zirconia inserts, the Omen Black offers extremely lightweight guides that are also incredibly strong. The Evolve Snag-Less hook keeper ensures that your focus remains on fishing and not fiddling with your equipment. Excellence prevails.

I wanted a good multi-species rod (trout to bass to pike to inshore) and I needed the 2 piece as I do a lot of drive-to and back country fishing. I was thinking about the no8 hellbent but it only comes as a one piece so he convinced me to shell out the extra $$ for the omen black.
Shipping and Packaging was fast and secure (easier to ship a 2 piece I imagine) and the rod came in great shape.
Great unboxing. Guides were straight, components are tight, and the materials look top notch.
I paired it with a Penn Battle II 2500 spooled with 15lb spider wire and 12lb fluorocarbon leader. Honestly, the 2500 is probably a bit of overkill and the 2000 would be fine but I like the extra line. With the 2500, the balance is still fine and it does not look out of place.
Fishing - this rod is awesome. I've been on the water with it for one day so far (I know, not enough yet), and I love it. Casts accurately and can throw a mile with appropriately sized lures (ultra small lures are harder to throw as they do not load the rod properly). I've landed one largemouth, several smallmouths, a walleye, and a carp with it so far.
Looking forward to many many more days on the water with this rod. I'll be sure to follow up of anything goes awry.
