1. Yes, there is a Touch-Screen
2. Yes, the Keyboard lights up
3. Yes, the Hard-drive is slow
There has been some misinformation regarding the Touch-Screen and the Mouse not working. Most problems like the Touch-Screen or Mouse not working just needs a reboot or a re-calibration. You have to manually activate the Back-lit Keyboard with the FN key and the F-Series Keys. Also, the specs are wrong here; the processor is a quad-core not duo. speaking of the processor you can overclock it to like 3.4 Ghz via the bios. This will eat more battery life but double the performance. All and all, if you buy a SSD and Turbo your processor this Laptop will perform great. BTW I use it for music production (FL Studios)
*Updated Dec 21, 2018 - I've observed that the disk runs at 100% for several minutes after boot and eventually % goes down depending on the tasks. Have reinstalled McAfee. A great laptop overall.
Update: my keyboard stopped lighting up. Seriously. I've had this for a month. I will be returning it....this is ridiculous.

I have installed Arch Linux (via Antergos) and run the XFCE desktop. This machine's processor is very fast. It runs a Blowfish CPU test at 1.19s vs my now older AMD Phenom II X4 840 at 3.24s. The FHD display is a pleasure to look at. It's not too heavy, ~3lbs, for a convertible (didn't want a convertible, but this machine had all the features I was looking for).
I liked this laptop so much, I purchased a 2nd to replace an older laptop with a bulging battery. I would have given it 5 stars, but the wireless card is only good, not excellent. I've had some better and I've had a lot worse. It's certainly livable. Also, it has the Asus noisy touchpad, you can see/hear an example on youtube Un6TSK0RCxQ. I actually returned a different Asus due to the noise thinking it was loose/defective. There are fixes out on the web (check ceezblog.info), or just slide a piece of paper between the touch pad and the chassis. Maybe the designer was a telegraph key manufacture in a previous life. I've chosen to live with it for now.
