So happy to know there is a new edition with an additional of new 4000 things To Be Happy About. Giving my dog-ear first copy to the local thrift shop and can't wait to read the new "4000".... and of course planning to buy more as gifts too.
This kind of book may not appeal to Everyone as they are merely 1-10 words eg "lovingness, ripe fruit, thinking with someone, warm sun and seaspray, not burping at the dinner table, keeping a smile on your face until the shutter clicks" - but each word/s has/have always made me SMILE.
Also note that as the Author is American, this is in American English and American Vocabulary - that some of my non-American Friends may have harder time appreciating it.
The book lists things that make one happy. I have shared this book with so many people; have bought and given away more copies than I remember. A wonderful gift and people can't open the book to any random page and Not find at least one thing on each page that charms them and makes them smile. When I stumbled across this book I started reading through it and underlined things that spoke to me and dated them. It is a kind of diary for me to go back and look at my highlights and remember how old I was when specific things touched me. I was so inspired I started keeping my own book, and still will randomly jot things down to insert when I get home.
I hope you give this book a chance and enjoy the smiles and the camraderie from sharing it, as I have.
