"It took me 15 minutes to page through Fall's book and read the synopsis of Proust's masterwork. I was tickled at how much info the author was able to slip into his breezy descriptions.... I've read Proust a couple of times, and this may not be quite so crystalline for the newcomer. But the author's comments and gotcha!s do help to point out who and what you should be looking for when you go on to read the entire oeuvre, which you will want to do when you finish this little book." From the Author
All hail the digital age! A physical book can be revised only rarely, and I last did that two years ago, to correct a few errors in my paperback introduction to Marcel Proust's great novel. Now Yale University Press has launched a new In Search of Lost Time to challenge the standard version from Modern Library and the more venturesome translations from Penguin/Viking. I have updated my Kindle edition to incorporate the new Swann's Way and In the Shadow of Young Girls in Flower, edited and annotated by William Carter, and I will continue to update it as Yale releases further volumes. If you buy the paperback 14-Minute Marcel Proust, or if you bought it from Amazon in the past, you can download the e-book without cost through Amazon's Matchbook program.

I've been going back to parts of it ever since. I got a kick out of this 21st century "14 Minute" blog of this classic.
