Just saw the ad for next week and Best Buy will have this for $30 less than Amazon. They'll probably match it, because that's how they price all of their new releases.

'Capitol Hill' is correct. Best Buy's online price for the blu-ray set is $179.99, and the dvd set is $149.99, as posted 9/19.

I've seen on another website's bluray forum that the BR will be $149.99 and the DVD $99.99 at BestBuy during the week of release. The $179.99 figure is the 'current' BR price for pre-orders. This info was supposedly from a BB employee.

I've already cancelled my Amazon order even though it included the book to guarantee I will get a lower price. There's no guarantee Amazon will drop to $150 on the day of release. They may wait a few days...as they did with the recent 3 Stooges box set. They waited until Thursday to drop to $49.99 on that release. I didn't want Bond 50 going into 'shipping soon' status with the $179.99 price.

Besides, isn't the Bond book excerpts from the full size version?

Again, that price doesn't reflect what the Sunday advertisement for Best Buy has lsited as it's sale price. Target will have it for $169.99 and Best Buy will sell it for $149.99. The DVD set will be $99.99. Here's a picture of the best buy ad that shows this: http://www.examiner.com/slideshow/september-23-29-2012-9-23-9-29-best-buy-ad-scan-prices-for-dvd-and-blu-ray-new-releases?slide=blank-3#slide=53111336

I just checked and verified that Best Buy does have the blu-ray set for 149.99. I may need to cancel my preorder as well.

i will stick with my preorder at bestbuy. what i dont like at amazon is they dont have the initiative to lower their price. they still have to wait for other stores to price drop before they follow

Philip - I agree with you. Amazon should be more aggressive in leading the price war ...but will still order from Amazon to save sales tax and convenience of it literally being handed to me while I sit at my desk at work by the UPS guy when he delivers it.

I did miss out on the excerpted poster book in cancelling my original order...oh well :-(

I have to think Amazon was bleeding pre-order cancels to lower their price on Friday before release day Tuesday.

In reply to an earlier post on Sep 21, 2012, 6:54:45 PM PDT
both amazon and bestbuy have sales tax but ill still stick my preorders with bestbuy, for every $250 purchase i get a $5 gc because of bestbuy rewardzone

I might hold out for solid user experienced cofirmation on region coding of the UK version. It is still about $25 less than our $150 price.

Best Buy will get my money on this one. I may pay $9 more for it with tax but they're the ones who offered the $149 price. If Amazon wants me to keep buying new releases from them they need to have their own sales, and not just sit back and match other stores.

Best Buy has the blu-ray on a 2 day sale right now (Friday-Saturday) for $149.99. Or if you can buy it here on Amazon for the same price. However I don't know if the Best Buy version has the book - it doesn't look like it on their website.
