About the Author
As a boy Leonard was very interested in music, science and history. He earned his Master's degree in Biophysics and Physiology at the University of Vermont in 1964. In 1976 Leonard organized and performed in a National Park Service east coast touring show about the banjo and it's connection to American culture. In 1980 he started United Software and Design Inc. and is still active in programing, design and support. Leonard's first engineering software project was to design a 40ft diameter, 300 KW wind turbine in Pennsylvania. Leonard says his most life changing and interesting project was discovering Theresa Vaughn and writing this first and only book about her. His newest book "1492 Up to Date or Very Near It" is a great supplement to his previous book. Leonard is now working to produce silver plated replicas of Theresa's Buckbee banjo.
