This wire seems to do just fine. It's held together on the spool with a few spins of narrow saran-wrap material that's easy to peel off. It has a clear jacket and is nice and bendy to route it around and through the typical crevices and turns that speaker wire typically takes from amp to speaker. This is about the cheapest 100-ft spool I could find on Amazon, but not the absolute cheapest by a few pennies. The feature that sold me on this is the sequential foot markings. Meh, maybe they all have it, but Mediabridge was one that declared it in the description. No need to measure out cable by hand when you can just reference the markings and do simple math. Caveat: it's not exactly sequential per foot, it's marks every OTHER foot, so odd feet measures are not marked on the wire, but it's not difficult to extrapolate half-way between markings to find it. The jacket is not super thick and shielded like some very high-end speaker wire, but it's sufficient. If you're paying much more for speaker wire, you're wasting your money. Low-oxygen, copper stranded, jacketed, shielded, blah blah blah. It's all mostly the same stuff. It's more important to consider wire gauge for the drops you are running than to quibble over wire quality. The guidelines are to use 16-gauge up to 80-ft drops (this covers most typical home theaters or 1-room audio setups), 14-gauge up to 200 feet, and 12-gauge or larger for longer drops.

Standard 16GA stranded speaker wire at a good price. Marked with a blue line on one wire so you can keep your blacks and reds going to the same place, if that matters to you.

Goes from and Onkyo TRN609 to Energy RC-Micro speakers, if that matters to anyone. Couldn't tell the difference between this wire and 14GA "Higher Quality" (more expensive) wire that I had temporarily used before this came.

This speaker wire is very nice. The copper conductor is thick and the insulation is just the right thickness. The wire is very flexible and easy to work with. Features a blue line on one side so you can tell the conductors apart. Great value for money and would easily compare to much more expensive wire. I've seen more expensive wire with less copper and more insulation... this stuff is a good balance, a very true 16 gauge. I highly recommend this product.

I wish I had done the research before I bought this wire. For what it is advertised as, I suppose it is a 5-star product, but I did not realize the difference between CCA (copper-clad-aluminum) and OFC (oxygen-free-copper) wire. This product is CCA. OFC is a significantly better product with a marked difference in efficiency. You can find 16-gauge OFC on this site for about the same price as this 14-gauge CCA ($5 more for 100 feet), and the 16-gauge OFC would have remarkably better performance!

Also note, you definitely want OFC for car and boat installations as pure copper is corrosion-free under virtually any conditions.

I ordered this wire to wire up my rear surround satellite speakers in my living room. I was tired of the surround wires running across the floor from the entertainment center, so by getting two rolls of this 16 gauge wire, I have enough to run around the room the opposite direction, arriving at the surround locations behind the couch. The signal is strong still, and my Yamaha receiver has adjustment capability to set the distance from each speaker to the listening "sweet spot" as well. I have messed around with those distance settings to get a really nice, fatt, clean surround sound stage that sounds great... esp. in the 5 Channel Enhanced mode. I can detect no loss of signal strength, even though I have those rear speakers on 56 feet of wire!!

I just bought a Definitive Technology Mythos SSA-50 Speaker for my LCD and needed 5 identical length speaker cables to feed it. The sequential foot markings on this 50's spool were perfect for the job. It made it so easy to measure and cut. Plus the printing on the cables is very easy to see so I had no problem keeping the phase correct on all cables.

I also purchased their 3' HDMI cables and they were great. But, to top it all off, I just received a personal email from the company making sure I'm happy with their products and giving me a name and phone to call if I needed help with anything. That's customer support!

I'm a fan and highly recommend Mediabridge products. Price is right, quality is superb and support is there before you need it.

Pretty much as high quality as a 14awg clear sheathed cable can get. The sheathing is very thick, the speaker wire is thick, and best of all it's CHEAP!

I do appreciate the color coded strands so that I don't need to hunt to see whether I'm putting in the right wire into the right side.

Compared to the amazonbasics version of the same thing I do prefer this version but they are more or less similar items, that perform exactly the same.

Get whichever one is cheaper! Remember at this thickness wire is wire. There will be no noticeable difference unless you have very long runs 30ft+.
