Update July 2013. I love these lights and they are still going strong. Excellent white light for dark, dark country road driving. FJ should have come with white lights like this from the factory, they are a great match!
Update October 2013....they are still working GREAT!
PIAA, Hella, Sylvania etc. seem to market the non-HID or Xenon automotive bulb products primarily by wattage and light temperature (Kelvin). I do not normally find a lumen rating which I would prefer since my objective in upgrading bulbs is to see further or brighter. My 1991 BMW uses traditional halogen bulbs everywhere so I hoped for better-than-OEM. Here are my conclusions after installation and usage.
I find "wattage" as in 55w=110w misleading. I do not believe, and my opinion, that the extreme white bulbs illuminate any further than the original 55w halogen bulb. I placed one PIAA in one of two fog lights and observed equidistant visibility with it and the stock Hella type 9006 55w bulb. Thus, "lumen" would be the measurement I would have preferred rather than watts.
The Kelvin scale color temperature is what you are really benefitting from. I tested with an original, probably 3200k bulb on the right side, a 4000k 'extreme white" on the left side and big difference! The whiter looking 'extreme white' or any 4000k rated bulb or higher will look 'brighter' but it simply is a higher Kelvin scale color. I probably agree with the marketing suggestion that a whiter white may help you see more clearly in the dark, not necessarily farther out.
But here is the catch and why I returned some "extreme white" bulbs. Placed behind a color lens such as a side marker or turn signal, the color is not 4000k but becomes yellow or red. So, I see no benefit to the premium price for a 4100k bulb in this instance.Read more ›
Also, just to be clear, to your car, they are the same as any other H4 bulb. They use the same wattage and voltage. Though they are similar to HID lights in terms of light quality, they do not use the same mechanics, and do not need an HID ballast installed like HID conversion kits, which may also be illegal to use, as they often let too much light bleed up toward the eyes of oncoming drivers - nothing gets a cop's ticket-writing hand itchier than being blinded. You don't have anything to worry about using these bulbs.
I immediately noticed the improved illumination and the much whiter hue. The original bulbs look distinctly orange/yellow in comparison. More useful though is that I can see objects much earlier - a definite plus and it may help prevent an accident.
Subjectively, I like the white color, it seems to be just right without gimmicky blue or purple.
Delivery was quick and hassle free.
I am not giving 5 stars as I believe it is possible to get even brighter light for the same Watt rating. That said, I am still a very satisfied customer. Recommended.
Update on 9 Apr 09:
About three months ago, one of the H7 died. Yesterday, the other H7 died. One dead is bad luck, two dead is bad quality.
I am now concerned about quality and withdraw my recommendation.

These bulbs were used on a 2012 Benz C250 Sport. These bulbs were noticeably whiter than the stock halogens but not necessarily brighter. The light output was about the same. Read morePublished 4 days ago by Eric
FYI, VERY DIM bulb. This bulb is far dimmer than stock though a tad whiter. It is not LED white, but whiter than a standard bulb. Just very dim.Published 5 days ago by PAPA.AMG
