Corsair Flash Voyager 16GB USB 3.0 drive CMFVY3-16GB
The Flash Voyager USB 3.0 series gives you the power of USB 3.0 speed, the flexibility of full USB 2.0 compatibility, and the rugged durability that the Voyager series is famous for.
USB 3.0 Speed. USB 2.0 Compatibility. Flash Voyager® Durability.
USB 3.0 Speed
As fast as USB flash drives are, copying files always seems to take a little longer than you'd like. The advent of the USB 3.0 interface puts an end to that. You can move files back and forth in a fraction of the time it takes with standard USB 2.0 flash drives, and the USB 3.0 interface is fast enough to allow you to view videos directly from your Flash Voyager, instead of the traditional extra step of copying them to a hard drive.
USB 2.0 Compatibility
Of course, Flash Voyager USB 3.0 is backward compatible with USB 2.0. Even if you haven't yet upgraded your PC to USB 3.0, it's still a great choice for convenient, reliable portable file management, and the additional performance will be ready when your PC is.
Durable and Shock-Resistant
The finger-friendly ergonomics of the Flash Voyager USB 3.0 will make it the USB flash drive that you'll want to take with you everywhere. Reliability is essential.
Corsair's proprietary all-rubber housing is extremely durable, for worry-free transport of your valuable data. And because accidents happen, Flash Voyager USB 3.0 is water-resistant.
Unlike traditional storage media, flash drives are solid-state, so they can easily handle the everyday — and not so everyday — drops and bumps that come with the territory.
Convenient and Compatible
It works with Microsoft® Windows®, Mac OS X® and even Linux without drivers, and there's no software to install — just plug it in, and go. If your computer has a USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 connector, you can use Flash Voyager USB 3.0.

The Corsair 16 GB USB 3.0 flash drive has a similar design to the other Corsair flash drives. There is a detachable, rubber cap over the connectors and rubber molding over the body of the memory stick. The rubber molding allows for a firm grip on the drive and gives the impression that the drive is very durable.
I am however, disappointed that the flash drive does not come with a lanyard. I would think that this would be a simple addition by Corsair. I was also surprised by the size of the 16 GB USB 3.0 flash drive which is larger than any of the other Corsair flash drives that I own. It is 9.3 cm long from the end of the connectors without the cap attached, 2.5 cm wide and 1.3 cm high. The width and height of the flash drive make it difficult to plug in other USB devices next to or above the drive in side-to-side USB plugs. Lastly, I was disappointed that the 16 GB USB 3.0 flash drive only has a 5 year warranty whereas the USB 2.0 version has a 10 year warranty.
Overall, I have been pleased with the performance of the 16 GB USB 3.0 flash drive. I would have given it 5 stars if a lanyard had been included.
Update December 6, 2011 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After working flawlessly for months, the USB drive would no longer connect to my computer. I suspect that I bumped the drive when I moved my laptop on my desk, damaging the connector. However, I would have expected the drive to be more durable than that. I contacted Corsair about the damaged drive and was told to return it to Corsair which I did. Corsair sent me a replacement drive free of charge. I am very pleased that Corsair stood by their warranty and I was pleased at how easy the exchange was. I was also pleased to receive a Corsair 16GB Flash Voyager USB 3.0 Flash Drive CMFVY3S-16GB which is much smaller than the original drive which it replaces.
The fault with the connector should not have happened, but due to the excellent customer service and the ease of the exchange, I wouldn't hesitate to continue to recommend Corsair USB drives. However, you might want to consider the smaller 16 GB CMFVY3S-16GB which has a much smaller profile. The smaller CMFVY3S-16GB also has a faster read and write speed. The larger drive has a maximum sequential read speed of 70 MB/s and a write speed of 19 MB/ s. The smaller drive has a maximum sequential read speed of 79 MB/s and a write speed of 21 MB/ s. Therefore due to the smaller size and the faster speeds, the CMFVY3S-16GB would be a better choice.
That forum there says it all: long story short, many, many users are finding that after a short amount of time (3 days to 1 month) their drives stop working. RMA's are guaranteed, but there are multiple users who are on their 5th drive. I would avoid this product, and came on here for my first review to let everyone else looking to buy this product to avoid it.
