I really wanted to love this book. The construction and cover of the book are beautiful and reflect good quality, but the pages themselves are of very poor print quality. They resemble a poor photo copy cut into a book with a lot of variation from one page to the next. I bought one for myself and one for a gift, but I am returning both of them because the book is so hard to read.

 Reading this makes it feel like you’re taking a step back in time and you get to put yourself in the shoes of those who had the first edition and what it must’ve felt like to read this book in the original layout. I love that there are no verses it keeps your readers mind concentrated on the message, and story, rather than “how many more verses are left till the end of the chapter?” I highly recommend it as a great study companion and heirloom to pass down.

This isn’t the greatest Book of Mormon replica I’ve seen. It doesn’t have a real leather cover and the paper quality is a little lower than with some other editions I’ve seen. That being said, it is very nicely done, the cover looks and feels great and the book thickness is spot on. I bought three of these, one for each of my kids for Christmas, so they can have an idea of what it was like when their ancestors read this book for the first time.
On a purely religious note, some may say that the typos and changes that are apparent when comparing this edition to the most recent one put out by the church casts doubt on its authenticity. However, I do not find this to be the case. As the prophet Mormon (the original compiler and editor) specifically says in the work, if there are errors (and he pretty well said there would be) they are the errors of men and not of God. He also warns not to disparage things of God because He uses imperfect instruments (i.e. men) to bring about his purposes. It just goes as further proof to my mind that despite man’s imperfections, God is able to bring about his holy works.
I find the typos and changes to be endearing.

This BOM is poor print quality and very poor materials used in the cover etc. I have requested a full refund (including the high postage cost) and the seller is saying I will have to pay for the return postage costs and they won’t refund the initial postage cost either - What a rip off! I’ve requested a full refund through Amazon because of this and am awaiting their response? Don’t make the same mistake I made and don’t buy this!
