Product Description

Challenge your mind with virtually limitless Sudoku puzzles! The classic numbers-based logic game that's taken the world by storm, Sudoku offers 4 levels of difficulty, possibility to create own puzzles, cheater mode when game will solve your puzzles and undo/redo function.

Sudoku is a logic game played on a 9x9 grid using digits 1 through 9. This grid is further subdivided into nine 3x3 blocks. The goal is to fill in the grid with digits such that one and only one of each digit 1 through 9 appear in every row, column, and block. There is only one solution to a sudoku grid.

Select Create Grid if you want to work on a puzzle you have seen outside this game. Enter the layout of the puzzle on the blank grid and play the game normally.

Select Cheater if you just want to know the answer! Enter the layout of the puzzle you are stuck on into the blank grid. When you have entered the layout press the soft key indicator marked 'Solve' to see the correct answer.

You can write a list of possible numbers (candidates) for each empty cell to help you solve the grid. You can annotate empty cells with the pencil tool, which you can activate by pressing Pen/Pencil button. While in pencil mode, you can enter up to 6 candidates per cell.

The next easiest cell is highlighted in blue to help you solve the grid, however, if you do not want this on it can be turned off in options.

In the beginning of each game you receive some coins to pay for hints. Number of coins depends on the difficulty level. When your coins are gone, time will be added as a penalty for every hint.

I am honestly not a Sudoku player, so I can't really do a nuts-and-bolts mechanics comparison to other similar games save from a general design perspective. And like the previous two 1C Wireless LLC FAOTDs, this Sudoku version seems a tad bland in visual-audio eye candy.

Network Access: Does contain Flurry Analytics; however, as the game is, the analytics are limited to anonymous data feedback on game performance. Game also integrates Amazon GameCircle and Leader Boards. Game does play offline.

SUDOKU does seem Android Phone friendly, approximately 8 megabytes fully installed, but it cannot be moved to a SD card. Runs at 68 megabytes RAM at idle. The game did exit cleanly with the back-key.

Portrait only orientation with a moderately large, visible UI. Brief, bland intro music with options for sound, cell highlight, and a toggle for input being [cell] or [number] first. There is are a couple interesting features, a Create Your Own Puzzle and a Cheater mode (so you can solve particularly tough printed puzzles). Still, Sudoku 10'000 Plus still seems to be the gold standard in terms of gameplay design and features (albiet more expensive) whereas this one is a sufficient silver, yet well worth a look.

*UPDATE: I am not 100% certain what caused it, but the game began crashing over and over whenever I tried to start a new game or continue with an old one. I do think it was likely caused by me not exiting the game properly but instead clearing out all applications from my Android Task Manager (i.e. Force Closing). However, restarting my tablet fixed the issue.*

I am a fan of Sudoku as a fun and challenging mental game. This one is pretty easy to play and I like the fact that you can select a difficulty level. Sudoku can be a mind challenging and fun game to play like when you are flying and have a lot of time to kill. This game also includes some Mahjong boards to play.

The app provides a reasonable basic tutoring lesson on how to play Sudoku. When you choose a new game you can select easy, medium, hard or pro difficulties. The game provides you with a number of Hint coins (99). If you insert a wrong number in a wrong location it is immediately turned to red color on the easy level. You can select to use a pen if you want to insert the number or a pencil just to add a possible number to a square. On the medium level only the duplicated numbers are highlighted and on the hard or pro level you have to find the errors yourself.

The app does contain Amazon and Flurry Analytics but at the present time the data that can be seen by the developer is limited to your actions regarding game play and how well the app coding is working. Just make sure that future updates do not add in more permissions that could allow your personal information to be downloaded.

The main screen of this game has the following choices:
* Play
* Help
* Options
* Mahjong
* Leaderboards
* Exit button that really works

This app installed into my device memory and I have no opportunity to transfer it to my SD card memory. It installed at 5.29 MB in size. This app contains Amazon Insights Analytics and Flurry Analytics. It also uses Amazon game Circle.

Update now that I've been up a while: The medium and hard puzzles do fit their category. That I am pleased to see. Was pretty hopeful based on what I saw with the easy puzzles. Along with this small part of the update, I updated (and corrected a couple of typos - I hate typos!) some of what I wrote earlier. For those who say this isn't helpful, I sure would like to know what else you want to know as I touched on what I look for and felt was the important parts of the game/app. I leave it to Reese, Thom Bone and the rest for any adware/spyware/malware stuff as I know enough about that to be dangerous. But hey - if you don't like my review, that's fine. I've just never figured out why some reviews get "Unhelpful" votes when it appears they've done a good job (not just mine). I sometimes wonder if there's just folk out there who find it fun to go to the FAOTD and just hit "Not Helpful" for all the reviews that happen to be up when they check it out. *shrug* Who cares? I don't. I was just curious about the fact. Anyway, on with the rest of the review.

Liked the fact that after reading some of the other comments that the devs took their concerns and righted them. For instance, I recall reading one based on the fact they weren't used to tapping the box then the number. You now have the option of either/or which proves they are watching the reviews.

So far I have only played the easy games - I'm usually choosing the medium and hard but it's just after 3 a.m. on the east coast and I'm only up because the dog needed out so I checked to see what was up.
